Looking around for some 19" fronts for my new wheels. http://www.mytyres.co.uk were the best by far, price you see is to your door, incl vat. My Toyo's came in about 3 days. Superb price too.

EDIT - co.uk not .com!! oops.

Even with the Members discount we get with tyresonline, mytyres still seem to work out cheaper! I've used them twice before and TBH I wouldn't use anyone else. Excellent service and very quick delivery as you saw James!

Leigh.

What about your dodgy stud???

Have you managed to get it out yet?

We need to see those wheels mounted!! :D

Bloody hell, £41.40 for Toyo Proxes for my Vectra (tyres are balder than Kojak!) Methinks I will be ordering some of these...!

LOL, dodgy stud is sorted, with minimum fuss in the end. My, your, our wheels are being taken to Lepsons tonight in Gillingham to be painted or powder coated, whatever they do, anthracite, just the spokes and inner rim. Leaving the dish polished of course! They are gonna look sooooooo nice.

Pics to follow........

:hyper:

(Your wheels, mate - put the cheque in the bank at lunchtime, sorry it's taken so long) :)

Can't wait to see them installed.

Oh dear, Lepsons was a waste of time! To be fair they did look like a good outfit but didn't like the look of my wheels! Kept saying how my plastic allen bolts would melt! Plastic my ar5e. Then suggested the polished rolled lip was glued on and would fall off in the process. I told him these wheels cost over £2k and I very much doubt anything was glued on or plastic. I actually took one out of the box and he did then see the lip of the rim wasn't glued on - but the damage was done in his mind, he just didn't fancy doing them. Left work at half 4, got home at half 7, 3 hours and fuel wasted.

Now don't get me wrong, maybe I was speaking to the company doughnut. I have heard very good reports on Lepsons and the other wheels that were being done there looked excellent. I was just unlucky I guess !! The idea was to get the spokes painted anthracite - I will still do this but will probably just get them painted by a bodyshop, eg masked and sprayed. They are brand new so don't need re-furbing anyway. Just annoying, I was looking forward to getting these done asap.... more grief now.

Booooo!

Tossers!! :D

Just get yourself some Airfix paint mate, give you something to do in the evening, when you're not polishing the rims (and no, that's not a euphemism ;)).

I have used Lepsons in the past and they did a fine job.

Try Spit n Polish, they're in Tonbridge and I've also sucessfully used them.

You do need to add £10-12 per tyre for fitting though.

Cheers Andy, Spit & Polish are next on the list but I have heard they've been taken over recently and new work isn't up to scratch. How true this is, I don't know, so will find out. Its looking favourite to take them to a sprayer I know and just have them painted.

Thought they give you a coupon to use in a number of garages around the country.
