Hi guys. How do we test wether an AFM is fooked? Which wire do I look at? What should the voltage be?

I think thats what the problem is. It got wet over a week ago and it;s been hesitating badly ever since. Air filter looks ok i.e. dry, splash guard is in place everything.

Please help

Hi

had this a while back myself, an ECU diagnostic was showing everything was OK so to be sure I unplugged the AFM with the engine running.

Engine ran perfectly smooth the minute I unplugged it, although in safety mode. I managed to pick up a second hand one pretty cheap, They're seriously expensive new.

Yeah mate i know - I tried a working one on it last night I'd borrowed off someone (cheers chunk) and this didn't cure it. It pops and bangs and spits and jerks all over the place. Dont know if this is what the problem is or not?

Anyone else?

Booger. Chopper - if you could mate that would be great.

Sarge - yeah mate no probs.

Does anyone else know what the problem is? Lambdas? Connections? Air leaks?

I had similar symptoms and replacing my injector connectors cured it. I also replaced all coilpack connectors too and it ran sweet as. This is a worthwhile job for ANYONE with old, brittle and damaged connectors to either.

just been to hell and back with bad idling finally got it straight,

after replacing coil and injector connectors.. plus new afm.

a good sign that afm is bad is car wont rev past 2500 rpm..

hope this help..

***GET YOUR Z RUNNING PROPERLY KIT***
