New boy

Hi everyone,

I'm a newboy here biggrin.gif but I've decided to take the brave step and join your ranks as a proud (and often skint) Z owner, but I have a couple of questions to ask ya before I take the plunge.

1) Do you folks know of any trusted garages/mechanics in the West Midlands area? I'm kinda between Brum and Cov - so I have to hold my breath a lot smile.gif

2) Where do you get your spares from? Specialist scrappy, Nissan, imported or are the dealers in the links from this site the best bet?

If your interested (or know of any really good 'uns for sale smile.gif) I reckon I'm gonna go for a UK model, manual and in black. I've got about 6 or 7k to spend.

See ya,

-Stu

Hi ya Stu! Welcome to the best forum on the net.

I'm in Brum together with JeffTT (Tamworth), Matty(TopSquads)(Coleshill) and Deano (Kiddeminster - I think). There are also a couple of us further north, Derby & Notts.

Jeff and I frequently work on Zeds and could probably be of some use if your Zed needs something doing to. Other than that none of us EVER trust the main Nissan dealers with our pride and joy. They're okay to source parts but that's about all they're good for. When I first owned my Zed (and was very naive)I had it serviced by Nissan and they did more damage than good. Courtesy Nissan in the States www.courtesy-nissan.com is an excellent source for parts and for everything else I usually go to breakers like Intapart www.intapart.com .

As for Zed's for sale, check out this weeks AutoTrader - I've seen about 7 for sale in there. Otherwise, I think Simonh is selling his car. Extremely nice car, not black, but definitely worth a look. I think there is a post in the For Sale and Wanted section of the forum (also check out his ride in the rides section).

Anyway, I'm rambling on ... nice to have you here and let us know if there is anything you need help with.

Cheers mate wink.gif
