Guys,

I have a UK 91 thats done 126k now, just found out my turbs need replacing so obviously looking a couple of grand there and i was just about to put it in to a bodyshop for a full respray and rust removal etc etc.

Now the car is mint inside and i have replaced a fair amount already (see signiture spec).

Now i feel im at the point of no return as between the bodywork and turbs this is gonna cost me around 5k, but if i was to sell the motor i prob get FA for it now.

Personally i luv the car and if i do these remainding jobs it gonna be in top condition with the majority of parts new and uprated.

What i need to know though is what are the engines good for, can they do 200k do you think??

Cheers,

Dan.

My engine had done about 168,000 miles when I did my engine rebuild.

The history which I had lots of, showed now evidence or a rebuild and all the parts taken off my engine when rebuilding it, where original.

Look after them and 150,000 miles is no problem. The turbos may not last that long though.

thats question is like how long is a piece of string,if well maintained regular oil changes, not been thrashed all its life theres no reason why a 300zx wont last for 200k+ the only things that would need replacing are the turbochargers, which yours have failed so there you go.

tnx guys....well on average i prob do about 5k a year so hopefully got some time left!

Whats involved in an engine rebuild...is that big money??

depends on how far you want to go,do you want to do it yourself
