did not make it to show, reason being,me and Donna got there ok,set up in B&B friday night, then went out to the Castle Inn,centre of village(very very nice)all going well, went to leave at 10.40pm,thought ,go to loo,as i came out i just managed to see a sign that said DUCK,MIND YOUR HEAD,not quite in time,CRACK,blood everywhere,1inch gash across top head, went back to B&B was up all night with awfull head pain, turns out i had mild concussion, after 2 hours sleep we left B&B to go to show, but what with me feeling not to well decided best thing was to come home, was gutted, still feel not 100% but loads better, may go to Pod tommoro to try and salvage something from weekend.

Not so funny for us traders.

I had to hold on for dear life to stop my gazebo from taking off. Had to ask three passers by to help out. End result was four completely soaked individuals, a gazebo with its frame completely bent out of shape (chucked in the bin when we left) and about £150 worth of stock (which was out on the table and display cabinet) ruined. Also had damage to my car from an item which came flying across the field from another stand and the bonnet stay (which was holding the bonnet open when the gust of wind appeared) slammed and crushed the cowling under the wipers. And that's just the mayhem it caused to my gazebo and car. Behind me there were two heavy duty pop-up gazebos which did take off and hit a few cars as well as people. Don't think there were any major injuries (the ambulance was out there in no time) but I do hope the owners had taken out a public liability insurance policy.

JapFest was complete Sh*te from my perspective. Weather was crap, didn't get half the amount of customers as last year, didn't even make enough money to cover the rent cost of the space and to top it all off ended up with a binned gazebo and damaged car and a nasty cold to boot! I think I'm still wet from the rain.

What happened to all the people who PM'd me prior to the show to say they were coming along to pick up (and pay) for various items. I went through hell to try and get them delivered from all parts of the world in time for the show and brought them all but noone showed  The trader next to me was very surprised I got all that stuff in the boot/backseat and wife in the front!

Anyway - rant over - at the moment I really don't feel like doing any other shows but I'm sure that come JAE I will have forgotten all about saturday's events!

All the best fellas!

Dan

But I am hopeing to get to a show at the end of the summer.

Bad news Dan - sorry to hear about your experience on Saturday. Must admit, I turned up late and didn't see any of the traders. Just milled around the Zed stand and watched the action on the track

Thanks all,me feeling better, done me some good to get out in fresh air yesterday, mind you, even that was a slow slow day, glad it was not me waiting to run,Santa Pod realy have got to get there act together,no point having a RWYB a week before major drag weekend, fookin muppets, think they only had a RWYB sunday to rip off a few more pounds, and as for saying that the drag teams pay more so get preference is wrong,RWYB is a bigger earner over the year, plus all the jap meets they have, either they should do it better or not bother, other UK venues do not have this problem, about time we tried Shakespear County Raceway, bet you run better times anyway.

Sorry to hear of your shite day Danny, sypathise mate, absolute crap weekend to be honest for many, what with the time and effort involved for traders/organisers/car clubs/public again the weather has fooked it all up,and no doubt will do so again, :(

Tony

I'm glad you're feeling better Tony - I've had a couple of dramatic run-ins with low beams ... not a pleasant thing to do.

Thanks all for your words regarding the way JapFest turned out for me. It's a real shame because last year was terrific! Hopefully JAE will turn out to be good and make up for last Saturday.

All the best!
