yes the 300ZX is classed as a classic car - probably because of the heritage back to the Datsun 240Z. Do a search on the forum for insurance and you'll find several threads about finding the best insurance for you and your Z. (being under 30 and having zero no-claims may be a bit tough on you tho mate :( )

oh, and welcome to the club. :)

hi mate try carole nash for your insurance,i'm over 30 but put zero no claims on the z and 6000 miles per year and it cost me £256 is does help if the z is not your main car

Also if its a uk car you have, try first alternative, good deals, imported car try norwich union IMPORT car insurance found through google sponsored links, they were dead reasonable.

IIRC you don't need any no claims if the car is going to be insured under a Classic Policy.

Try Norton Insurance on 0121 246 5050.

Fully comp, 5000 mile/yr, legal fees, breakdown and windscreen cover etc etc £335

Alan.......

looking at spec have any of you told them your car is modified? Usually makes a massive difference. i found elephant.co.uk to be one of the cheapest, plus you can taylor your cover to your needs. compared them to Houghtons out o Z mag. Almost £200 cheaper a year. Elephant quoted me £445, 8000 miles car worth £8k. 34 years old + 6years no claims.

Give them a try.

By the way you dont get any no calims on classic insurance. found out the other day wen it cam to renew my dads chrylser le baron (1989) insurance that i realised it was meant to have 1 yr no claims and it had 'nil' so phoned then up and ask y my dad had no claims. which then they tell me classic insurance u get no claims. and classic insurance tend to be more expensive.

last year: norwich union, £860 (classic) fully comp.

dis year: Adirun flux, £383 3rd party and theft (car is only for weekends do 3rd will do good.)

And car is a 2.2 GTC Chrysler Lebaron German Import (LHD) Convertable

So not bad.
