A few questions

Just got the zed back on the road proper for the first time since January. :hyper: Its been of the road for so long because i've been so busy at uni/work etc ive barely had the chance, and for the last couple of months ive been saving for its visit to PPS next weekend. :hyper:

Anyway, during that time i got myself a set of second hand 18s. When i had them fitted i was told they were a little buckled and i would notice a bit of vibration from the front. After driving it today, there is defo a good bit of vibration at 70mph and over.

I had planned to have these wheels reconditioned anyway as they have been curbed, but i was just wondering if buckling can be cured when reconditioning alloys?

The main problem however is that in the couple of hours i had the zed out, it spluttered on 3 occasions. Each time was when i was pulling away from junctions. I put the foot down and there is a total loss of power. I press the accelerator and nothing. A second or so later, everything is back to normal. Any ideas what is causing this?

Apart from that everything is minty. Oh yeah, i fookin hate speed bumps! :headvswal

I will have a stab in the dark go .. lol

My first thought was a dodgy MAF but I would have thought that this would happen not just at junctions. I would check the coilpacks and connections and it could be the PTU breaking down. Maybe a connection problem there.

I guess it could be fuel related as well. Had you filled up before this happened? Have you checked the fuel filter?

That is about as far as my knowledge goes. Sure someone will come along with some useful suggestions though.

Cheers Chris. I'll give all the connections a good clean over the weekend. I think most of them were replaced by a previous owner though. Most of them look pretty clean.

As for the fuel, i had filled up not too long before hand. As the car was sat in the drive for so long it was quite low on fuel. Only gave it a quick spin every week or so just to keep it going. I reckon the filter should be fine though, that was replaced fairly recently.

It still has the original PTU so i suppose that could be the problem. Hope bot though.

thanks for your help mate.
