quick car

but would off thought you should kick its ass mid range

steve

had a race with an s3 a few months back, i got some space away from me at the lights as i didnt realise he wanted a race, but caught him up.

The S3 has the same power as a non turbo zed, you should of passed him with ease in a TT zed.

i need to check my motor out it seems fine but everyone elses seems to be quicker!

raced one in my mates mondeo st220 not a lot in it, but my 300 will pass the 220 with ease

are all ure zeds standard?

its worth noting that the S3's can be chipped to around 260bhp, and its a very popular and cheap upgrade.

Hard to say how that would compare to a stock TT, but stock versus stuck the zed would kill it.

Well, I can switch mine between standard power and 390bhp using the presets I have programed into my boost controller.

I still think you have a problem of some sort with your car. You say yours is a auto box, could it be slipping when you hit high power band?

With a chip they are quick - light with 4WD too.

A mate has one and he says he could ram M3s off the road coming out of roundabouts in the wet (but that's in the wet!)

I wonder about the box but then there is nothing noticable with the slipping that i can tell..you'd see the revs rise wouldnt you?

Ill find a rolling road and check it out...it was totally clear this time though, I had my foot to the floor and it just didnt want to catch it up...

as jaffa says, safety boost will result in a big drop in power, enough to let silly hatchbacks beat you anyway ;)

if the turbo needle is going off to the right (+7 ish)..can you still be in safety boost? excuse the ignorance im not techy like that...

Yes,as the stock gauge is shite, best get an aftermarket gauge fitted, prefer PSI to Bar,then you will know exactly what boost you have.

Tony :)

is that the only way of telling or is there another way?

is that the only way of telling

Yes,unless you in safety boost/mode,then Conzult will show it :)

Mine was stuck in saftey boost ever sine I bought it, about 10 months and I didn't even know, seemed fast enough. John Dixon sorted it for me then re mapped it. The reason it was in saftey boost was because someone had removed a previously fitted boost controller and not reconnected the stock solonoids.

Could it be something like that ?

Ryan had it on the conzult and said it was fine...damn i was hoping it was that and id see a massive power improvement :(

as turbos get older..do they just 'go' or do they pull less and less and the performance declines slowly...my motor has done 90k miles but the turbos are 'apparently' ok...

My car had done 130K on stock tubs. Still pushed 1bar boost and went like a train until the day it said no more POP BANG WHIZ WALLOP WALLOP BANG SCEECH GURGGLE RUMBBLE PU SSSSHHH.

Your really have something not right there.

Robert see if you can have a go in another members zed that lives near you...and/or get them to drive yours.

........Your really have something not right there.

Hi Robert

I have to agree with this, like you say first the 330d then an S3

S3 is 225bhp just like the Audi TT and we can all stuff them even in a stock auto Z32tt.

It could be a boost leak somewhere or maybe your right foot isn't heavy enough?

Richard :smw:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Don't let Del Boy go past you in his Robin :nono:

hehe im beginning to be afraid of the micra...im beginning to start using the 'they must be chipped' excuse every time an old biddy goes past me....

Anyone stevenage way want to check out the poke in it, so to speak? or have a motor i can compare it to?
