HELP Ticking from top end

Hi,

 

can anyone help me, I have a ticking from the top end of my engine can anyone help me with ideas?

when does it happen? when u first turn on the engine? if so for how long? U must give more details biggrin.gif

 

Anyway sounds like a stuck tappet, so make sure you change ur oil frequently, apparently puttinga little ATF (i think it was ATF might be something else) in with the oil helps this a lot. Also different ppl have different opinions on what oil is best, but im on the fence cos i now nothing about it.

 

Anyway u better be grateful this is my first ever bit of tech help ive given on here lol smile.gif

it could just be lifters, does it go away when you have had a decent run and come back to idle.

 

dont start putting funny additives in your engine they just make a lot of muck in the bottem end.

 

if its just ticking it could be your oil.

no major problem
