Hi guys

Ive noticed, and the car has done this for about 3yrs now, but now its becoming realy anoying! that if the air con is off, and you drive towards say a round about, junction or red light, when the clutch is pressed and the revs drop, the idle goes to approx 400-500, shakes and the engine cuts out. Same thing happens if say you drive in 4/5th gear at 40+ and you pressed the clutch and let the engine idle, it will stall. it almost seems as if the revs drop to quick? At standstill, you can rev the car, right to the limit in fact and it never stalls, the revs do drop almost to 500 but the engine does keep going (just). normally, the engine idls fine. Ive cleaned the pipes, sensors and throttles, but it has made no difference. I once did a ECU check and this showed nothing either? Anyone else had this problem? Solved it?

Many Thanks

Karl

Have you looked at your TPS conections and see if it is set correctly, just a thought.

defo worth getting it hooked up to a conzult.

I would love to look at it.....wher and what is it? How is it set?

Thanks

Check your clutch booster & booster tank which feed off inlet manifold.

If there is a leak there then you wont be getting the appropriate assist so when you press the clutch it creates vacuum in the inlet manifold..hence the stall...

Good thinking splat! I di notice the other day that some of the smaller pipes were looking a bit 'tired'!

ok, have had this problem on a few nissans. have you cleaned out the throttle bypass as there will be a small amount of air allowed past the throttle to allow car to idle, if this is blocked then it would limit the air getting into engine with throttle off, and then the aircon is on the engine will increase air bypass into engine to compinsate for extra load on engine so as you say the revs would drop but are less likely to stall, not sure how the throttle bypass is done on these car as i must admit haven't really looked at them in to great a detail but i see it alot on the newer nissans. also have seen this happen on 300zx's with a faulty knock sensor. the other major thig that could be causing it could be an air leak into the intake system after the MAFs (Mass air flow sensor) carry out an emissions check on the car if it is running lean then an air leak is likely. or you could check the signal wire from the MAFs senor should give a voltage of approximately 1volt with engine off but ignition on. and higher with engine idling but you will have to check the workshop manual for what wire it is as i don't have a manual here at min. this info is true to the best of my knowledge if i made any mistake then i expect you guys to put me right :D

hope it helps buddy
