just a quick question have a auto 300zx z32 on a 91 model year. if i was to buy a manual 300zx for parts to convert my current z to a manual. is there anything that i should know ie do the blocks have different postioning of the bolt holes etc to attach the gearbox or any other nasty surprises. is there a certain model year that i have to find. am considering it as i my engine is starting to smoke and if i have to take the bugger out then i will take the vehicle off the road completely until all repairs and mods are done and buy a cheap run around for the time being. that way i will have a crisp zed once done and hopefully no further problems.

You need to cut and join a section of harness to the box/alternator but other than that its dead simple really as all the holes are ready in the right places.

Fitting the pedal up under the dash is a complete back-breaking tw@t of a job though!

Onething to be wary of when buying a gearbox and flywheel is to be sure it is a twin turbo as a non turbo will look almost identical but will mean you can only fit the non turbo sized clutch and if it comes from the same car the propshaft will be smaller too.
