But I remember a few years ago they voted the Vectra as the worst car ever. B/Sh1t was it. OK it wasn't the best but do me a favour it was the perfect all rounder for the average man. As was the Mondeo.

I saw a Citroen C3 tonight and I thought "That is one seriously ugly piece of shite", how the fook is that on the "Cool" wall and the others on the "Uncool" wall. What a load of balls. I've spent all night trying to fix a Fiat Punto with 20K on the clock, it's lights come on when you switch the fan on!, it overheats (suspect head gasket) and the internal blower motor is fooked but hey, it's Sub Zero Cool - :xxx: :xxx: :xxx: :xxx: BTW the program is being axed.

I dont think you get the cool wall at all, the technical merits of the car have absolutely nothing to do with it, neither do looks, power, anything like that.

Chill out guys, you are reading the Cool/Uncool wall thing far too seriously, if you remember Jeremy Clarkson put his GT-40 on the "Uncool" wall and why? 350Z is uncool IMO, Z32 spanks it's @rse which is more than enough for me!

 

Put it this way, I owned a Mk III Supra and that was a quick car at the time, if I had gone out and bought a Mk IV Soup and found that I was getting my backside well and truly cained by my older Soup I would have got shot of that MO FO asap.

 

Oh yeah and it's a fookin' Renault FFS...nuff said! ;)

 

Top Gear is the daddy by the way, at least it's moved on and kept up with current motoring themes of the decade unlike that sh1te that is 5th Gear. Really cannot be bothered to watch that drivel it sends me to sleep with the dulcit tones of Tiff and Munter Henderson burbling on about cack that no fooker is really interested in.

Top Gear is a great program for entertainment value, I love it. Jeremy Is a great entertainer but a shite car reviewer, even my dad says this and he's not into cars that much! Jeremy is very inconsistant in his reviewing of cars, I watched a series he did called J Clarkson motorworld he went to the US and said how great American cars are and they are the best in the world. Now his opinion is that American cars are shite!

I prefer 5th gear for a proper car review and Top Gear for entertainment.

i reckon its going down the pan.. call me an old ******* but i'd quite like to see some reviews of normal cars for a change.. rather than just seeing clarkson screwing the nuts off a 6 billion pound car everyweek.. its getting boring... but its all very nice for old jezza isnt it.

The whole point of the cool wall is that the car would have to impress Kristen Scott Thomas when Clarkson takes her on a date (in his dreams), so I think it's reasonable (by that logic) that the 350Z would be uncool (slow too).

TBH there isn't much I disagree with about the uncool wall... except why is there only one Hyundai model listed on it? They're all mingers (yes, including the coupe - sorry to anyone who owns one). I'd take the 300ZX over the 350Z any day of the week but then OTOH if somebody offered to give me a 350Z I wouldn't turn them down....

Oh no, I've just had a look at the cool cars wall. Maybe I am starting to violently disagree with this thing after all. The Audi A3 is a cool car?!? Hello? And somebody needs to explain to me why the Hyundai Coupe is in that list: it's a slow-arsed 165 bhp hunk of dog turd pretending to be a sports car. And the Honda Jazz, what's that all about? Nothing wrong with it at all - very practical and economical and not horrendous in the looks department... but cool? I don't think so.

 

Anyway I'm going to stop at this point because I can feel a full on rant coming on and that's just not going to be good for anyone, especially me.

Clarkson and his little bitch-boy have all the cool of a grandmas shopping trolley so I don't see they have the right to judge cars cred.

 

The 350Z has a nice blend of geek and gangsta chic. I'd have one if I could afford it.

 

That said, I do like Top Gear - stunning production values and fresh treatments of car tests. Compare it to Fifth Gear - that looks like a sixth form project next to Top Gear. Remeber the time he took the diesel Jag to the Nurburgring? Or the time he drove the 911, Monaro etc on that enormous beach? Or the time he out-manoeuvered a Apache Helicopter on a VX220? Or the time he raced Easyjet to the Monaco in an Aston Martin? Remember anything on Fifth Gear except that Tiff Needle droning on and thinking he's big time cos he can drive fast and slide a car. I don't.

Crrrraaaaiiiiggggg Daaavvviiidddd, think he was in an Elise/Exige with the Apache as I was watching my Best of Top Gear over the weekend...and I think he raced the Hammond the Hamster and Boy May who were on the Euro Star. Could be wrong! ;) But you are right though better than Fifth Gear, when is Top Gear coming back by the way??
