At last, I've done it! I've got my NPPL(M) Un-restricted, which means I can fly anywhere in the UK & France in a microlight aircraft

I've flown 170 miles in the last 2 days. On one of my trips I flew over the Blackpool tower which was cool :) It looked like a toy from 3500ft Lol.

Can't wait to fly over Snowdonia now :nana2:

When I do, I'll post some piccies up for you guys :)

That's cool Shaun, well done mate. Have you got yer own Micro aswell??

I want one so bad....

how many hours do you need to get your licence?

Hey Shaunmac

That is so sweet I was only talking about doing this myself the other day. Where do I start? How much do these things cost? etc. I really am interested in doing this.

Yeah, here's a piccie of it :)

Cool! But how do you fit that in the boot of a Z?? :mac1:

I rekon it must have cost about 2K for all the lessons etc. I've done about 35 hours in total. 16.5 of those were with an instructor before they let me go solo!

If you look at the site below it explains what you need:

Sounds like a lot but I did it all in about 8 months & I had to drive 100 miles to get to the airfield too which made it much more difficult.

It's definately the best thing I've ever done. I've also made loads of new mates down at the Airfield too.

Lol. You can get a trailer for it and it'll fit in a garage when it's all packed away.

The Flash 2 Alpha that I bought cost me 4.2K but it's quite a decent one, dual ignition, twin carbs etc. You can pick them up for as little as 2K or as much as 24K for a new Pegasus Quik.

The Quik is the dogs danglies, it can climb at a rate of 1700ft per minute. i.e. you could be on the ground & then 60 seconds later you're in the clouds! how cool is that  I rekon I'll have to get me one of those one day ;)

Shaun you can fly over Snowdonia then over to Anglesey and land in my fields, should give the neighbours summat to talk about! You gonna have machine guns and air-to-air rockets fitted and call her Little Nelly??
