Overtook a 350Z last night!! NO, NOT in my 300ZX, but Karen did in her Hyundia Pony!!!!!

No it wasn't parked, no it wasn't turning and no it wasn't going the other way ;) It was on the dual carriageway, and it had just overtaken us, so Karen put her foot down and passed it :D     :nana2:

Wasn't me!!

However, if I see a Hyundai Pony out and about with a bit of form, I'll be sure to apply the accelerator in any case!! :p

CheerZ,

sorry to sound bad but all the owners of 350z by me seem like right tossas.

thye look at me like a piece of shit. when my car is minter than theres thus proven when parked in front of one at the lights people took more interest in mine oh well its faster aswell!

:nana2:

Heehheeeee!!

Well done to Karen!! :D:D:D

There was a 350 next to me at the lights a few days ago, nice hot day so my window was open, he said to me "Nice Z you got there mate"

I replied "Thanks"

he replied "Wanna see what a new Z can do"

I PMSL!!

left him in a cloud of tyre smoke (i hope)

We got to the next lights and he said "I bet youve spent some money on that"

I said "Yep, but not £28k"

I PMSL as i left him from the lights again!!

So, if you have a Black 350Z with an aftermarket pipe on in Leicester, dont try to have a go with a "Proper Z" again :p

Well, that's just charming, isn't it?

Most of the one's that I know, and that's not as many as 300 owners, are perfectly OK - although I'd have to agree that most of them are not Z enthusiasts, they're just happy to be driving the best sports car available in it's class at the moment.

For me, I only wanted it BECAUSE it was a Z. You may notice from my sig, I've had a few now.

Funnily enough, when I first got mine, and joined the 350 forum, the first thing a couple of the enthusiasts said on there was that they new my old 300 and liked it. Mind you, they'd have been mad not to, 'cos it was a beauty.

Nuff Z?

CheerZ,

JB.

Similar thing happened to me aswell. But without the race. In fact.............

I pulled up at a roundabout near me and this 350Z was already going round it. He stopped mid r/about and flashed me to go. I wondered if it was a challenge? No. we pulled up at the next one and he drew along side beeming a smile and said " I got the looks. You got the power". whats that all about????

My other half has got a 350 and she can't keep up with me on the country lanes - when I'm in the diesel Xantia !!!!!!!!!!!

Conclusive proof that 350's are slower than Citroen taxis then .. wow, that's amazing!!

Perhaps I should be looking round for one of them to replace the 350 when I have to sell her, rather than a Z32 then?

LOL, perhaps, but make sure you get the Activa with the clever sports suspension ;)

Lol yeh my wife xantia has the sports supension button wooooooo. Still love the ride the suspension gives though

Actually, thinking back, I had 2 BX 16v GTis, and I never tired of the fun of jacking the suspension up and down... nothing like cars with a few "different" gadgets, and Citroen's tend to have more than any. :)

I have to say, the handling in those cars was superb... just a shame it didn't have 6 gears, really. Deluxe headache maker if ever I drove one! :smash:

Don't like french cars never have never will................

Bonvoyage my ar5e.

LOL.

Hmmm, dunno they're OK (some of them), but they are made of the lowest quality materials known to homme. In fact, cereal boxes are more robust than most of the French wagons I've owned!!

Uh-oh! sounds like a cue for someone to start banging on about the 350 having a Renault engine again .....

Where's Timmy Turbot when you need him?

Oh bugger, I've done it now!! :slap:

CheerZ,

Jean-Garcon.

My ovloV C70 T5 smokes 350Z's all the time.

Its just so funnyon Motorways and Dual carridge ways, the expression on the faces when you sit on the rear while they try to pull away. Then at about 90 you just nail it and smile as you blast past. Their is nothing they can do as they are giving it everything. :D :D

350Z's and Audi TT's are my favourite pray, because most of their drivers, I'm sorry to say. Have an inflated opinion of themselves and their machines

350Z's and Audi TT's are my favourite pray, because most of their drivers, I'm sorry to say. Have an inflated opinion of themselves and their machines

I do hope that it isn't aimed at me, Mark... I know exactly what my machine is capable of, having owned 3 Z32s beforehand, thank-you. :)

However, an observation or two:

- Audi TTs are not in even in the same class, they're merely grouped together by simplistic motoring journalists, needing to sell copy. One is a muscle car, one is a fashion accessory. I've driven all variations, and they're all shite IMO.

- I can't comment on the prowess of your Volvo, but based on the fact that you can "smoke" a 350, one must also assume that it's as quick as Z32 TT in standard trim, since there isn't *that much* between the 2 cars.

I remember from when I first got the car that it's not on your list of favourites, and I see that opinion hasn't changed over the last year!! :D :D

Hi john-boy

I'm not pointing fingers at you thats why I said most. I also recall you even agreed there was a significant ellement of 350Z drivers who suffered from a personallity disorder and wrongly assumed, because their car is new and ours arn't, that they and their machines were superior.

As for a standard 300Zx and 350z I carn't coment because I've never driven either as my car wasn't standard when I bought her and I've never driven a 350z. The Volvo is very quick from 60 to about 130 though I would imagine the 350 to be quicker 0-60 it certainly aint from 70-130 I know from experience.

The T5 is very under rate due to the pipe and slippers image volvos have, but make superb everyday rides. Next spring my wife is chopping in her Toyota TRD for a X5 and I'm going to get the new Volvo S40 T5 sport, AWD, 450bhp and 19" standard with free pipe and slippers.

The Z stay as thats an ongoing love afare

I'm sure that's true mate, never been in one, so can't comment but perhaps I should look at a T5 Estate to replace my Jeep in time - that might make the ultimate rapid transport for fishing trips. I don't think it could possibly use any more juice than my 3.7 Cherokee either!

One of my best mate's first car at school was an ancient Volvo 144 2.0, and I'm sure his driving must have done as much as anyone's to dispel that pipe and slippers image, he was mental! :) He now races 750cc bikes in Singapore, so I guess that's as far from pipe and slippers as you can get!

I love the 350Z I love the Volvo too. The audi TT looks like a fun car to own. But I own a MG ZT 190+ and I love that too. My 300ZX is my toy of choice. So it really is a matter of taste.

:nana2: Just outside of Bedford on the way to JNc 13 of the M1 is a mile long Dual carriageway and earlier this year whilst out on my motorbike I witnessed a race between a 350Z a TVR? (noy sure of the model but it was the chunky one?) and a Mitsu Evo 7. off they all went and the results were as follows.

1st place..Nissan 350Z by at least 3 car lengths

2nd The TVR

3rd just a car length behind was the EVO.

It was a joy to see?

The V70 T6R is worth a look as they come fully loaded have 2 turbos, AWD and 300bhp standard. The handling of any of the R models is leagues ahead of the rest of the Volvo stable. You can expect 36 to 42 to the gallon on the motorway though serious screaming see's it fall into the late teens.

Any pre 2003 (ie 220/250bhp) T5 models can be sorted with a Rica chip that sees 315/320bhp with no other mods+ better mid range consumption.

Surely this proves it's the driver, not the car that matters - especially when they're all over 250bhp.

Could well be Craig? I must correct an error tho'. I have been told by my son Ross who was pillion at the time...that it wasn't an EVO at all it was a Impreza. Sorry! Still not that much difference???

I thought the TVR would have won to be honest tho'?

Well, what do you expect from a call called "Trevor"? :smash:

Mark, thanks for the Volvo info - only my ignorance, didn't realise they had so much power, and yes, that's much better than the 19mpg I average taking it easy at the moment!! :D

I've got to admit that I'mquite getting used to the 350Z now, I'm even considering taking one for a test drive....... NO I'm not going to buy one though :D

I'm quite into the soft-top as well.

LOL Dave, that's exactly what I thought when I made the fatal trip to Nissan in Canterbury - just out of curiosity. I was hooked instantly, next thing I knew my (I'm never gonna part with her) 300 was for sale, and the rest is history. So beware! :D

Convertible looks a lot nicer with the hood down, but I've got a feeling that it's only available with a semi-auto box (yeuch!).
