I am thinking about upgrading my phone soon but am unsure what one to go for

I think so far its between the Nokia 6630 and the Motorola V975.

Anyone have any experience with these or another 3 phone?

Cheers,

Justin:)

I was looking at that nokia, I hate the motorola op system, there are some good deals out there 5.99 for 7 months on a 12 month contract

HAHA! I laugh at Nokia phones... probably because I've got an XDA IIi. In any case if you do go for 3, you should be prepared for a completely shit service, getting cut off a random times, not connecting and all the other problems which the other major players have managed to fix.

Anyone remember the original One2One serivce? If you thought that was crap, 3 is worse.

Couldnt agree more with this, Put all my fitters on 3 so they could video any problems to me. Waste of time and money.

Nokia all the way for me

I am already on 3 anyway and I could not agree with you all more but who else will do me 150 texts and 750 X-net mins for £40pm?

I have been looking at some of these small websites that are offering amazing deals on 3 but am a bit worried what happens with redeeming back the money if they go bust or something.

Justin,

Coincidentally I know three people (all good friends) who've used 3 and they've had universally bad experiences: signal drop-out, poor quality phones, truly appalling coverage, interference and piercing earsplittingly loud shrill background noise. My housemate went with them and his handset didn't work from the off. Took around 6 months to get the money he'd paid back off of them: their customer service is truly appalling. DON'T DO IT!! They're cheap (which is obviously the attraction) and the deals seem to be good but their quality of service and coverage is awful. What's the point of paying less for a phone if you can't rely on being able to use it?

Anyway, just my two-pence worth. At the end of the day it's your money and it's up to you. Hope it all works out.

Cheers,

Bart

Thanks for the replies. I am starting to lean towards the 6630 now. It looks like a fantactic phone if not a little big?

I am going to have to stay with 3 I'm afraid. My zed eats all my money so cheap is best for me at the mo although I would love to go to O2 etc.

Lovely phone BUT!

It is not as great as it may seem? I just sold my one and went back to the 6600 for now. The 6630 has a great camera 1.3 MP but thats about it really OK for the business man I should imagine but not much fun. IMO. I am waiting to get the 6230i now nice small well equipt phone out soon if not already. Good camera. MP3 player. 1 hour video? much the same spec as the 6630 but more fun.

So at least you got some good advice.

6630 great phone great camera. but not much fun.

6230i as above but fun aswell.

I know coz I got a 18 year old son who wants everything new on the market.......... :smash:

BTW. My daughter is on the 3 network and as already mentioned >It leaves a lot to be desired?

i got 2 nokia 7600's on 3 for £10 month which gives me 1000 mins and 200 txt from the CPW

never had any problems with getting a line or interference...though i dont live in London which might have a capacity issue on the 3 network

used to be with voda & orange TBH it all seems a much for much service wise

I've had a 6630 for a couple of weeks now and it's great. Can rip full album tracks from cd and just bluetooth them over to the phone and use it as an mp3 player. Apart from that you've got the memory card which makes life easier, good camera, video etc.

Only downside was that I'm on Orange and oop ere in the north west I'm in a 'dip' for the 3G signal so t'internet access took ages, but selected normal 2G on the phone now and it's fine.

Tottally agree....

3 is poop :nono:

Had three different phones from them....some worked some didnt.

Customer service.....

:mac1:

I was told if the 3g system wouldnt pick up signal then it would switch to the o2 network....that was poop as well.

It varied from crap signal (if you were lucky) to fook all.

It took ages and about 20 phone calls to get my contract's cancelled.

These are the Cowboys of the phone world without a doubt.

Im sorry for sounding so down on em but when they buggered me about I felt it my duty to let others know what I'd experienced.

Positive Note:

I hope you have good coverage in your area viniboy and you have no problems with ur phone

everyone i know who signed up for 3 has regretted it, my girlfriend had them for 6 months, sure she had 500 minutes a month free but it was impossible for her to use them because of poor coverage, I'd get calls at 4am saying it was from her phone and it would be some random little old lady with a cross line (how on earth do you get a cross line in this day and age), halfway through calls it would cut out, and then she wouldnt be able to use her phone for 5 minutes,

my dad had similar problems, he ended up cancelling aftre 3 months, plus i know of half a dozen other people on three who have serious problems with 3.

cancelling was worse, they ignore you if you want to cancel, and once you have cancelled they still try and take money, absolute nightmare,

I'm on orange, I've been a customer for over 3 years now and I cannot fault them, cheaper than vodaphone, better service than all others,
