I just wanted to say... If you have had a bad day.. think on .. I didn't make it back to my Mum when she died. Sarah, my girilfiend spent 8.5 hours on the journey back today on the M25 trying to get back to her father who had had a heart attack...

 

she made it back eventually and is now at the hospital . I am waiting to hear from her ... so if you think you have had a bad day, think again, sometimes it is just geat to feel alive and well ...

Yea me to mate she called me loads of times today, so frustrated because of the accident on the M25... I missed my Mum dying by minutes after a stroke but we were travelling back from Cornwall... gutting ...

 

I know what she must be going through ...

In a similiar story, I never made it to my father after his 3rd heart attack in 2 days, a few years back. Stuck on the M1 in traffic heading to Leicester. My phone went and I smashed it to the ground as my big brother was in tears on the end of it........my head hit the horn and everyone stared at me wondering whats going on.....

 

I know what its like mate...sh1te..... :(

After reading the posts on this thread I realise that there are so many other people who go on everyday with their own personal pain and anguish and smile through all their own personal hardships. Sometimes it really is good to share things, it makes me feel good to see that there are some really nice people out there somewhere.

Hi Steve,

 

Well I had a call from Sarah early this morning to say that he made it through the night. He is still very bad and in intensve care. She is obviously very very upset and is going over to see him after the hosptal have run some tests this morning.

 

She said she would give me a call later on to let me know how he is doing.

 

He's hanging in there, which is good news so far.

So sorry to hear this news Chris, I hope he pulls through. I missed seeing my dad, I was due to go back home the same day he died after being away for a year. Even now makes me wish I'd gone back a day earlier.

another reason to be grateful for having two arms and two legs etc.

 

also makes ya feel guilty too - iv got one set of grandparents, 2 sets of aunts and uncles and 4 cousins that i hardly ever see and a sister, brother in law and niece that i havnt spoken too for 9 months - all living within 10 miles.

 

think i ought to start having some family time.
