Digital clock and those cheapo Nelson cowboys!!! Supercar? My arse! LOL

Q. Why do the digital clocks pack up on Z's???

A. Nelson were cheap gits and installed a watch battery to keep the clock working with the ignition switched off!

Hence why most peoples digital clock will pack up at some time or another and they(Nelson) will quite happily rip you off big stylee!!! mad.gif

Now if that were true .....

Actually the clock has a permanent live.

And whilst I'm being pedantic (do what you do best etc), it's not the clock per se that that packs up, it's the gas discharge display. If it were LCD or maybe LED it would probably last much longer.

Well I read it in the book you gave me Andreas my friend! A to ZX, he mentions it in the list of things known to fail! wink.gif

...you let me borrow, not gave wink.gif

Andy....

I don't think you're ever gonna get that book back biggrin.gif

Hmmm, interesting, well there ain't no watch battery in the ones I've taken apart and they forget the time pretty quickly when the main battery is disconnected.

What is curious though is that there are obviously different models with the same part numbers ....

Sure Tim, Sure biggrin.gif

I've read the same said on TTnet BTW - about the batteries, and then dismissed.. So perhaps there are two different types of clock floating around..

Can't think why on earth they'd use a watch battery though, bit daft when you've got a dirty great 12v lead acid battery sat under the bonnet really isn't it biggrin.gif

I don't know why everyone raves about it anyway, it's the crapest clock I've ever set eyes on anyway! biggrin.gif

Now if it were a TAG or ROLEX then I'd make the effort to get excited, but it reminds me of my first memories of a digital watch! Not a wood moment by any means...ROFL biggrin.gif
