Whats the fastest. A 300zx? A GTO or a Supra twin turbo. Or the top skyline. Also why do you guys think the 300zx is better than supras, GTO's ect ect. I really just prefer the look of the Z myself. It really does look powerful, where as a supra looks cheep looking and the GTO well Im just not keen on that. And skylines and Evo's and scoobies simply look like famliy cars gone. So come on explain to me why the 300zx is the best out of the big jab supercars?

There all American HP!!

Sorry!! But.......

OK so what car are these graphs from? For all I know the graphs are from a modded Citroen 2cv!

Your claim that a standard US spec supra has 360hp is a dream. It just does not tally with the performnce data. I mean a 280bhp zed will do 0-60 in 5.2sec quater mile 13.8sec. Now you claim the supra has a whopping 80hp extra, and yet the supra only does 0 to sixty 0.3 second faster and quarter mile 0.4 seconds faster!

You know, I have spent 20 minutes to find dynographs and post the links in case some members here can't be bothered to. You could atleast read the thread and pay a little bit of attention. I have already explained the standards of horsepower and how they vary.

The same dyno equipment used to measure standard cars, if you still think they exaggerate horsepower then all manufacturers must have underated their cars.

Try visiting the home page of those links, they are standard MK4 Supras.

You are mixing up performance data. 0-60 in 5.2 for the Z is the American 300 HP model. And you can't use the 0-60 to determine power, as traction will affect the times. Try a 60-100 mph and you will see a significant gap in performance.

I also have road test that measures gear-to-gear acceleration for the Supra if you want it. The performance really does blow the Z'ed away.

Perhaps you should be open to critcism about your cars as well as you dish it out towards others. It's very ironic that I defend the 300ZX against the MKIV crowd, it's just a shame I get the same flak here.

Ok, so we'll all see the error of our ways, sell our rubbish slow Z's and buy some Supras, will that cheer you up?

Just that a pissing contest about HP means NOTHING to most of us here who know you can use that HP about 0.000000001% of the time on UK roads. At the end of the day our Z's look 50mph faster when they are PARKED, and 100% more beautiful sitting in traffic jams (which they tend to do the other 99.999999999999% of the time no matter what colour they are or if they're auto or manual ;) )

What's up, nothing interesting happening on the Supra boards? Now there's a surprise!

Mate, you really are a dreamer. Do you really expect us to believe that those graphs were from a standard supra? What proof do you have that they came from a standard supra? None.

Your talking about a huge increase in power over a standard zed, an extra 80hp. Now we should be seeing some significant increases in performance data over the zed but what do we get? 0.3 sec here and 0.2 there.

Anyway http://www.junauto.co.jp/democar/jb-z32/index.html?en PROVEN

Nope, just responding to the guy who said the VG30 is more efficient engine than the 2JZ.

It wasn't even me who wanted to talk about HP. It was the 300zx owners in this thread who ASKED ME for dynos and therefore proof.

But you never knew this because you jumped late into the thread without reading it.

I am a dreamer? Okay. Well I advised to you visit supraforums, and search for the stock dynos. And I have made effort to give you sources.

But since these dynos aren't good enough for you, and you seem to think there is no siginificant difference in performance to prove it, I have a road test performed by Road & Track if you want it.

Is there an image upload facility here?

I did read most of it, but to be honest it was just the same as all the other Z/Supra/GTO "which is faster/more powerful" threads that we've had over the years. We KNOW that a MKIV Supra is slightly more powerful and can get HUGE American BHP figures.....it's just that we really don't care. We're a little bit more grown up on this board (only a few wear Burberry ;) ) We've also had the US BHP debate, and everyone has 'FACTS' that they can pull up to proove anything.

Ok, all it measures is 0-60.

What about the trap speed on the 1/4 mile? 103.9 vs 106.7 mph

http://www.angelfire.com/ga3/300zx3/images/car3005.jpg

60-100 mph

Supra: 7.1 seconds

ZX: 8.4 seconds.

(1.3 second difference)

60-130 mph

Supra: 17.3 seconds

ZX: 22 seconds

(4.7 second difference)

I still have another road test if you want to see it.

shall we let Homer J Simpson have the last word

"Facts are meaningless. You could use facts to prove anything..."

"You tried your best and you failed miserably. The lesson is 'never try'."

You sir, is an example of "if i don't can't do it, then no one can"

I must admit i raced a supra from 60 mph up and my car was running 0.7bar boost at the time just over stock, but the supra has way more power and it was a stock uk spec with aftermarket exhaust only. Ive raced a skyline gtr from the same speed and kept with the skyline (was running 0.85bar boost though). To date the supra is the only car that was pulling away from me when i was on full throttle i have come across.

You sir, is an example of "if i don't can't do it, then no one can"

Err, no. I'm an example of "I don't give a flying fuk about Supra stats"

I think we already said that the stock Supra was quicker than stock zed.

However, as already mentioned earlier. The Supra runs 11.5psi with bigger injectors , and the 300zx 9.5 psi. Call it an excuse if you will, but with the zed up to the same equal boost pressure thats going to affect those times.

Here is an under-performing early 1990 Z32 ZX. This one was probably making 280 HP at best.

60-100 MPH = 10 secs

Yes, they will make similar power if tuned well and if the turbos can flow enough air.

The problem is people like Homebrew thought that 9.5 psi vs 11.5 psi, rated Hp vs rated Hp was a measure of engine efficiency. The road tests and dynos prove that 11.5 psi makes more power than the rated 320 HP, but every peice of proof I provide, all I get is childish retorts and "oh i dont care anyway." ignorance.

Some dude with a stock 300zx made a decent 280 rwhp with stock boost, but was laughed at by equally childish and ignorant Supra owners.

The power is perfectly feasible providing it was measured with decent ambient temperatures and that the car wasnt running pig rich.

......all I get is childish retorts and "oh i dont care anyway." ignorance.

OI! you cheeky FUKKER!! :slap: I'm allowed to put up the odd post that says 'I don't care'. Now piss off and take your 3mph and 0.4sec difference and poke it sideways up yer sphincter! Jumped up little Supra techno tw@t :slap:
