June 29, 200025 yr Hi guys, I thought I'd post this discussion I had with Jim at JWT and SGP last night, about what my next options are after my AVC-R install... (yep - it's cut for an email to Viking) Feel free to comment, correct me, hang me, shoot me as required..... > Yep, 1400 is the quote I got from SGP - only asking!!!!! > > So what fuel are you running when you get 18psi... 95 euro or 98 euro super? > I had a really long chat with JWT and SGP last night about what boost I can > safely run and what my next options are... it's pretty much like I > expected.... upto 13.5 psi on stock turbos/injectors/fuel and pop. June 29, 200025 yr Jez. I think it is safe to say that your next big HP mod cost a fair bit of $$$ to do properly. IMHO Bigger Compressor wheels are a must, so are IC's and Injectors at the same time if you plan on running >14PSI. At least that is the plan that im planning to follow, the only problem being im not 100% sure that the stock internals will be happy with the higher pressure. I am therefor looking to get a second engine, drop that in as Stock and get my old one built up a bit( heads, valve job, overbore, forged piston + coatings). This may not be neccesary but it is always better to have a strong base to work from, altho the guy's in the states run like 22psi on stock motors and setups (hmmm) I have heard of guys welding pistons on much less that that in this country. Did you ask Jim why he didn't recommend the T25/T28's from Gyro ? As they are basically if not exactly the same turbo as the sport 550. Another thing to consider are Will your clutch handle the new power(probably if you already have a sport clutch)and how fast do you need to stop with the new power (V big breaks). Z ya Nico91TT
June 30, 200025 yr Basically, Jim only likes to sell JWT branded goods... (mmmm) ... at JWT prices.... they are good, but a tad overpriced compared with the T25/T28s. But perhaps the build or quality is different. Perhaps the box it comes in is gold plated? 22PSI on stock, I think they must be looking at the volume on the stereo instead on the boost gauge!!!
