Hi, 1992 SWB, series 1, T top, Turbo, manual, leather, standard as far as I know, red, (so not a fast one then, as we all know black is best) 50k miles, jap import, described as very good condition.

What do you lot think its worth please?

Featured Replies

In all honesty, it's only worth what someones willing

to pay for it! lol.

Have seen one on the forum for £3500, however, the guy

has not replied to my email yet..( nearly a month).

I also replied about the pearl yellow swb in the for sale

section, the guy wants £6500 ono.

How much is the one you are looking at Mark?

I would of said around £5.5k-£6k but there have been plenty of very low priced sales lately..usually becuase the sellers only use this forum to advertise and become desperate when they dont sale (which is mainly becuase there is a small buying audience on here, compared to somewhere like Autotrader)

Hi, this is Jamie....Marks son. The car is in japan and we havent bought it. It seems to be a very nice one. Obviously we need to know what it is worth over here compared to how much the guy will sell it for to determin whether it is worth the hassle of importing the car ourselves.

I personally think it must be worth 5k. any more input would be most appreciated

Cheers

Jamie

A trader is offering a 91 SWB for £6000. However other Z's are anywhere between £3000 to £7000.

Cant really tell much from that photo.

Ask for a full spec list & more photos before commiting

yourself, auction grade, history etc....

Ask him to take photos of the date tag on the rear

of the seatbelt @ the bottom, this will confirm the

exact yr it was manufactured. Seen a few with the

'wrong' No plate on!

There are also date marks on the rear light cluster covers,

& the whel arch liner.

Is it a company importing it, or an individual?

i have full spec and many photos just thought you wanted to see what it looked like!

It has no plate as it has been deregistered ready for export. however they do give you a de reg certificate etc etc. I have bought cars from this trader before, never given me a reason not to trust him.

The spec is standard however the exhaust doesnt look standard?! so there is only really condition etc to be told.

i do like it!

i can clearly remember what your z use to look like  been through some changes LOL

Dont think they are standard, look much thinner, but its a bad pic, and I dunno why anyone would fit smaller pee shooters on it

mines a 93k tt manual swb black, I wouldnt sell it for a penny under 7k, but it is an exceptional example

looking at that pic its standard, id say 5k fair price for it fresh import, and its red :(

I cannot beleive you are considering buying without all of the details of vehicle grade (essential), damage history, full spec and pictures/diagrams of any marks/damage to the inside and outside of the vehicle. This is standard practice in Japan.

Why this one? There are dozens for sale every week in the Japanese auctions. You can choose the mileage, colour, transmission, model, mileage, auction grade etc. My advice as someone who has purchased dozens of cars direct from Japanese auctions is to decide exactly what you want, and set a budget. Then wait for the right vehicle to come up. I was looking at the auctions tonight, there are some really nice vehicles to choose from.

Ronflat: Do you have any site addresses for the jap

auctions? Would be very interesting viewing, do they

include the prices they go for?

They have restricted access, you have to be a member. Because once you have access there is nothing stopping you placing bids directly to the auctions. As for prices when there is a vehicle you are seriously interested in you can request recent auction history for similar models/mileges/years however there can be a vast difference dependent on grade and mileage in particular. If you give me your email address I could do a couple of screen prints to give you an idea of whats out there this week. (45 being auctioned this week so far)

Japcity offer a buy to order process which takes out the worry of buying from Japan.

We take all the hassle out of buying from Japan and nobody but Japanese companies can deal direct with the Auction houses. Japanese companies offer access to the auctions, but its the company who places the bid and checks the car for you.

The quality of the companies varys massively, it taken me several years to find comapnies who I trust. I have three companies I use depending on which auction I intend to buy from.

Check this link out for full informaton on our but to order process. Plus if your a fully paid up member our fee is only £500 instead of the quoted £750.

What condition and miles was it when you bought it? Is it manual?
