How did the rolling road session go?

Haven't seen anything mentioned, so was wondering how everyone got on? Heard Warren had a rather spectacular figure, but what about everyone else?

CheerZ warren. The day was well worth it. Gives me a figure to work on, and well yours is certainly the target to beat. Good show

yep cheerz Warren superb day. you are the Daddy of of horse power, ill move from cow power to horses next year...LOL.......

"T".

Well done for organising yesterday Warren. Shame some people still haven't paid.

You were the Daddy yesterday, but I'm working on it dude. I was pleasantly surprised to have racked up 357 RWBHP considering I have no internal mods or chip. Maybe the TLC from SE (and me)ain't that bad. (thats bound to bring a few responses).

It was great meeting all you guys and I look forward to the next meet.

Yup you came out from nowhere and had the run of the day. That was very impressive.

It was good for all to see.

Great day out, great turn out too. Even if a lot of us were spectators!

Decided to go for it in the end, so did my bros.

Good seeing you all, well done to Warren for organising it.

I'll wanna do it again after I fit new mods.

Good seeing all the changes to everyones cars from the first meet in MK. Just showes how much the forum has helped us all. I loved the 6 cows in the back of Tony's (lack300)car. lol! I haven't seen a better interior mate.

My bros Tony (AVA300) says thanks also to JEFF TT - he says he'll contact you Jeff

Warren - did you say that the mag will be out on Monday? Thats quick. Is it Japanese Performance Magasine?

Yeah, top day Warren. Good to meet some of the 300 guys, and to see some of 200 guys again of course wink.gif.

Hope you get your cash sorted frown.gif, and all the money you 300 guys must have as well! smile.gif

I was rather pleased with my 217.7 RWBHP @ 13.5psi, very surprising. smile.gif smile.gif Think I'd better crank the boost up a bit more biggrin.gif

where u get remus back box from, ive never seen just back boxes and its what my dad wants. Are they loud? How much r they?

elite in essex do them they are expensive about £400 for back box not even stainless. look good though. goto powerflow get a backbox made £250 any tailpipe design.

is that for both back boxes, if its for 1 then they are taking the piss.

I was:-

262 bhp at the wheels

253 lbft @ 4500 rpm

Expected for a stock manual.

But as seen by all in the room im way way

over the co (unburnt fuel) level.

He said "is it chipped" (no)! as chequed 1/2 hour ago. " can you up the boost for me" (no)

Now i need some advise! it was owned by MK performance (now bust) 3 years ago. They did some work on the car but took it off, alegedly when it was sold.....Bigger injectors (maybe???) has been a suggestion!

Or am i just lucky enough to put in the welding tip trick to try & keep up with the fuel flow. And what is a good starting size 1.0 - 0.8 ? let me know. Engines & tubs done only 28k. Or is there somthing else i should look at to decrease fuel input.

Pukka day Warren Cheers mate & good to see you all in a very big attendance

Much learnt - much laughs - nice bar maid!!!

Harve.

ps. & i know my no plate is pushing it but it suit the car

Elite in Rainham http://www.elitedirect.com

I paid about £500ish for both boxes (not one) inc vat & fitting. Haggle with them, it works. I have had them on for about 5 years and they still look good.

I thought they were stainless lack?? confused.gif

They sound lovely, a sort of cross between a V8 and the old 3 litre capri, virtually no drone.

Must be good on the power judging by my results.

Harve,

Be careful with compensating for over-fuelling with more boost. There must be a reason for it and it's worth finding out. Personally I doubt it's big injectors as with stock chip they'd be massively over - the car may not even run. It's an odd problem because the way the Nissan electronics work is relatively basic. Initial reaction is that the first place to look would be your Mass Airflow Sensor but even that seems unlikely as it would have to be over-reading the airflow and I'd expect most problems to lead to an under-reading.

If it's not obvious then perhaps a consult test, or check out your readings from a Techtom (a couple of guys on here have them and it takes about 7 seconds to connect up!).

Are you sure the chip is standard ? Could still be the stock ECU but with another chip. If it's this then you can normally bank on the ECU being in a socket whereas stock ECUs are soldered in.

Good luck !

Dave

P.S. Thanks also from me to Wazzer for organising the day and also for the lift up. Although, being a very nervous passenger, I wasn't so keen on the 70 mph wheelspin !

Cheers Dave on the input. When we got to MK me & big Bart (Tony gold man) he he! took the ecu apart to look at chip...... thanks Craig & Andy Duff for sortin us out when he got his massive necklace cought in the ecu connector LOL LOL LOL.

But the chip is std.?.?.?

28k on engine & tubs, compession perfect, tickover spot on, & dyno - perfect power curves as std. But running 3.9% over fueling which is a great deal over. This is why i had to do the pipe trick on the second mot test aswell!!!

Mas sensor is connected to an 80mm intake with a huge pipercross filter. So air isnt the problem, its the sheer waiste of power & fuel frown.gif

All ideas welcome as to how to reduce fuel or make the most of it smile.gif

Cheers H4 RVE well nearly lol

What the f??k happened to my zed 8 months of trouble free motoring (except water pump change) spec JWT Chip, boost jets 12+psi K&N intake, exhaust, timing dead on new plugs new oil octane booster and RESULT

crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap

245.3 bhp at the wheels at 4000 rpm !!!!

ok got 322.1 ft.lb torque at 4500rmp but the graph has big big dip in it.

Spoke to Andy and others and the operator who incedently was about as helpful as a chocolate fire guard! seems he forgot to have the auto box holding in 3rd and the dips are it changing gear what an arse, to say I am pissed off is an under F???ing satement the shutting of the roller shutter was an absolute disaster to the later guys as any similarity in test conditions were lost, the cooling fan in use was moving something like 150 cu ft of air a minute with the door open and about 1/3 of that when shut as witnessed by standing by the opening to the ajoining room it was trying to suck you in.

Yes I know if I had a 400Bhp figure I would not be moaning and yes I know that the amount paid was a small amount compared to a normal one to one test but the operator was an arse he even said the car was only running 7 to 8 psi boost when I questioned him as to how he knew this he said he looked at my Blitz pod gauge! Its not even F???ing calibrated in PSI glasses!! the guy needs a labotomy!

I can only appologises to you guys for venting my frustration on you but some times it has to be done.

First thing Monday morning I am arranging a one to one to at another RR to sort it out as I am really not happy that the mods I have done are supposed to give xxx power and have not resulted in that according to Mr chocolate fire guards measurements we will see if he is an arse or my cars a shed.

Jeff TT

Ps I sent my car to bed with out any tea last night for been so naughty

QUOTE 1

Hmmmmmmm can i ask why you did not question him there and then on the spot.

I supsect he may have answered your questions.

The temperature was a constant 70 f inside the entire day, as i questioned him about that.

Besides if 15 out of 16 cars run to withing what they thaught, maby just maby they were correct.

I spoke to thee guys about octane boost and they said it can have adverse effects, ie have heard octane boost can lower octane if mixed with optimax. ???

no smoke without fire.

Thats the whole point it I did ask him and it was like he could`nt be bothered to give me a plausable reply, I even mentioned about the auto issue and not been held in 3rd gear as that is clearly obvious from the two yes two gear changes that occured on the power run, my peak Bhp seems to of been in 2nd bloody gear and by the time it got in to third and four the time/revs where running off the scale personally I think the run was flawed and would have expected the guy to been man enough to admit it but oh no,funny how his Italian accent suddenly got completely uncoherent after I tried to get an answer, arse arse arse arse that my view!

Jeff TT get your car checked over by someone who knows 300s. Also don't believe the hype of a x psi boost increase + chip + air intake + full exhaust gives you 400hp at the flywheel on a ~10 year old car. I've very very rarely seen Jap import give stunning figures on simple mods.

'fraid m8ty engines are nearly always tired and it reflects in the figures.

Jeff,

Whilst I fully understand your frustrations with the low figures your wheels gave, to slag off the RR day is a little dismissive IMHO.

I turned up 'just to have a look' as did a lot of other people, the result was a inpromptue 300 gathering larger than that seen at Billing.

I cannot help but think that had the handful of people who who had 'signed up' for the day been the only ones there, there would not have been the confusion or frustration experienced later in the day and more time could have been given to the attendees. Did anyone really expect that number of cars to turn up?

I guess at the end of the day, Rare M/S have to work there, a complaint to the council about excessive noise and traffic movements on a Saturday could really fuck them up big time. A degree of damage limitation was necessary and I guess that included closing the roller blinds and 'hiding' us round the back. I think that £33 for a dyno session is very cheap, had we gone individually, I'm sure the cost would have been much higher.

I'm not having a pop at you Jeff - honest, I just thought that given that few people that replied when Warren initally suggested this idea, no credit should be taken away, I will definately be up for a 'run on the rollers' if he organises another day, perhaps a company situated on a Industrial estate might be better suited next time.

No offence meant to anyone by this posting, I really enjoyed meeting so many people from the forum, it was nothing but friendly and very welcoming.

Nice one Warren - look forward to the next one.

Tim
