Hi,

I had to leave the boot open today driving home from town because of an awkward load, and noticed a weird smell, almost like ammonia, coming from the exhaust , thought it was coming from somewhere in town until i was on the open road and noticed it everytime i put the foot down.

Its a sports exhaust, dont know the make because it was on the car when i bought it.

Any explanation?

cheers

not sure if there still in, but i can tell you this. When i first bought the car, i had a mechanic give it the once over for signs of crash damage underneath. he gave it the all clear but we noticed that where the exhaust is bolted up into the turbo's, all the nuts were missing, it was basically hanging loose :(

Is this where the cats should be?

cats are approx between your seats not quite close to the turbos's. they cat pipes are basically the middle section
