Does anyone know where I can get an uprated clutch fork?

Mine has snapped since fitting the ACT paddle clutch and I'm a bit worried about using a standard Nissan one again @ £40

Already got a stronger pivot ball as I thought that's what had gone :nono:

how do you find the paddle clutch Chris? is it not a bit 'all or nothing'? my mates got one in his GTti and find it hard as nails to cut about in. is it not a nightmare in the Z?

sorry, i cant help you with the release fork, just thought id ask.

Chris,

I am pretty sure Smithy can get hold of these. Think they are about £40 as far as I can remember.

I would also be interested in one of these perhaps in the future so let me know how you get on.

It's not great to be honest.

Wasn't my first choice though.

I had an RPS Sport Max clutch which was smooth as anything and very light to use but had problems getting gears after a while until eventually i got stranded.

Was in a rush to a feature on Men & Motors TV the same day and the garage only had the ACT clutch in stock so i went for it even though they couldn't see anything visibly wrong with the RPS. Now the fork has snapped its clear that that was probably the cause originally. I presume it was bent so it wasn't moving the clutch far enough to disengage.

The ACT judders and vibrates and makes a continous noise when driving. Almost shakes the car to pieces sometimes but it is good for fast getaways.

Unlike the RPS which was smooth and silent.

Was going to sell the RPS as it is like new but i think i'll save it for when this one wears out, which with my driving won't be long!

Justin,

I spoke to Smithy yesterday and he can't get them.

The only one he knows of is the Nismo but it would be weeks to get hold of.

I got the stronger pivot ball off him as they are known to go with uprated clutches but the fork seems a rare failure.

mine broke aswell, my mechanic got both bits and welded the living daylights out of it, now stronger than new :) and running uprated clutch and 400bhp

John thats the pivot, its the actual clutch fork that broke

checked with my engineer today, he tells me that the welding job he did on my clutch fork will last forever stronger than when new, so aslong as you can fish the bit thats snapped off out of the bell housing with a magnet you should be able to weld it up aswell and away you go :)

Gave up and ordered one from my local Nissan Mainstealer.

£40 and 5 days delivery :(

Might see if I can get someone to weld a bit more strength into it anyway.

Nice one chris, would you do me a massive favour and email me the part number when you get it ? thanks bud, Glen

mmmm, ACT clutch judder, now theres a thing I have fitted one to my car and its juddering like a c**t, even removed box again and reskimmed flywheel and its still the same. So is this a common fault on ACT clutches or am I unlucky, as I'm gonna take box out again and wonder if I dare use another ACT clutch??
