Ok, so after seeing Chunk fly down the strip, him having an Auto it got me thinking. I've had an auto for a couple of days now, and was wondering the best technique for getting the best time.

 

Do you have overdrive on or off?

 

Do you go for it in Drive, or go through 1 and 2 etc.

 

Do you have your power button on?

 

Do you have your eyes open or shut? :wack:

 

I've been playing around with it trying to see what's best, but wondered what everyone else with an Auto does :)

Think shrimpy did a write up in the tecnical section so time back

you'd never go fast enough at WOT in a 1/4 mile to use overdrive so answer: either

From my memories of driving an auto for 7 years, I found that using the gears made them more responsive so I would say, overdrive off, could you will never get up to that speed to need it, start in 1st and you control when it goes in second, then hold the power button down as it is in third.

 

That's a complete guess because I only had a manual Z but it can't be that far out!
