I recently purchased myself a lovely ZED :D but an insurance quote fell through for her!! :( I've tried lots of different insurers, with no result! Does anybody know where to try!!

She is an import tt 1989 and i live in Northen Ireland!! Oh and im 26yrs!! :headvswal

Have you tried http://www.greenlightinsurance.com ? They were the only ones I could get to insure me at a sensible price with all mods declared. Even the oft-recommended companies couldn't compete.

at 26 you should'nt find a problem getting insurance..or is it that the quotes are too high ?

 

Im 25 with 4 yrs NCB on a Import TT and I paid £650 Fully comp through Admiral http://www.admiral.uk.com last week.

I am think your problem lies in the Northern Island bit chap. A lot of Co's won't even insure a roller skate so i belive. I have friends there and they find it very hard to get GOOD cover.

Hi m8, I'm from your neck of the woods. I 'm 30 with full no claims and have recently tried elephant.co.uk and they quoted £700 fully comp. It dosent really help being over here, but sh1t happens i suppose..

Hi thanks for the reply, i know its a ****er!! I already tried elephant and they said u have 2 be over 28 to qualify for import insurance!! Gotta love this country cause no one else will!!

I also got a quote from Elephant, they use Admiral as one of their Main brokers so it was marginally more than Admiral quoted. But they did'nt have a problem with me being 25, on an Import.

 

p.s It was £100 cheaper to add my Wife to the Insurance, even although she has only had a Liscense for a year.

Thanks i tried admiral and they quoted me which was good but it will cost me 2100quid fully comp(OUCH)!! I might be forced into payin!! At least someone will quote me!

like i said before m8, you are from northern ireland ( like me ) and that will always be a downer as far as mainland uk insurance companies are concerned...like wheelman said even insuran a roller skate can be difficult, especially a 280bhp import!!

Ive got to agree with the some of the guys about admiral. I dont understand why so much diffrance im 22 and have no no claims bouns and 3 pts for speeding but i only pay £1000 and definatley put your mum or wife on there as it took £200 off my quote.
