The HICAS light on the dash for some reason has com up and wont turn off. I turn on the car and drive it for a bit and it doesnt come on but after a few minutes of driving it turns on and doesnt ruen back off. Could some please explain to me what it could be. Will i need a new Hicas unit?

 

Also another problem is my power steering at first it works perfictly but then stops workin and and then starts again whiles the car is being driven i reckon it kinda dangerous as when turning you can never tell if it is going to be working or not so would like to get it fixed asap.

 

And (lol to many problems) i recently realised that when i acclerate the car has a good response (when stopped) but when it gets to about 6000rpm it feels as if the engine cuts out. For me to countinue going quicker i have to press the accelerator about 2-3 times to get a response from the engine.

check your power steering fluid first, that could be the cause of the hicas/ps problems, alternatively could be a dodgey speed sensor or a badly converted speedo (if its an import) i think... :)

damn this stoopid keyboard, been meaning to complain about the non-working space bar for months

do a search on "hicas power steering" mate, I think the first two are related. Either a dodgy speed convertor or dodgy connection from the speedo. Alternatively it could be the steering angle sensor (behind steering wheel) is knackered or disconnected. The hicas needs speed and steering angle inputs to work. If it doesn't get them it cuts out for safety - this also affects the power steering.
