Urgent - overheated

Just got back from getting petrol and the car is pissing out with steam - let it cool and tried removing radiator cap but brown shitty liquid still coming out...

It has also not been giving me the 'power' in normal mode for 10 sec (auto) when I put my foot down for the last few days

Please advise...

What hose is steam escaping from?

Brown water is normal but if too much deposits in water can build up a blockage. So maybe try flushing the system with additive when you've sorted the leak.

Opening the rad cap when the engine has cooled can still cause gush of water as the engine core is still hot.

It could be a simple fix. Whatever keep that expansion tank filled up properley. Running air through the system is bad for the water pump etc.

Locate the area it's leaking from and we should be able give you an idea what to check for.

Powerlord had the same problem recently - it was a bypass hose top of the engine split. Easy to locate, but difficult to replace as access is real limited. email him to find out how it went.

good luck

filled it up and and after a couple of runs now seems okay!

still has no 'power' when puting foot down, is this related or a seperate problem?

NB Power works okay in power mode just not in normal mode...

T3RBO check up behind the gas pedal and depress the pedal, when fully down it should click a little micro switch which serves both the power on for 10 seconds and the kickdown,it is very common for the floor mat to slip up behind the pedal and it does`nt quite reach full depression then.

Also the overheat etc could of been the rad cap releasing too soon .
