A tech question? me???? :)

Opinions please guys. Although my car passed its MOT today, there were a few points noted.....

1) Front top link bushes are buggered (passable with a warning). I'm thinking of going for adjustable rods and was wondering what other people have fitted, have looked at fitting etc etc etc. Have looked at the Stillen bars but would rather have a rose jointed style if it is available.....

2) The hicas end rods are going at the hub. Are there any uprated versions out there or am I stuck with the nissan versions??? I still want to keep the HICAS so don't even go there tongue.gif

3) Sills are rotten (I think this is SRRAE's territory) and need replacing - thoughts on where etc would be grateful smile.gif

4) Radiator is looking like its knackered finally - had it repaired before which was great but that was a last ditch effort since the top hose connection is half broken.....

If I think of anything else I'll mention it..... BTW the top link bushes are what is causing the braking 'thump' so at least I know what it is now smile.gif

Me thinks my car is gonna be made better rather than getting more power for the next few months frown.gif Warren you are safe for now biggrin.gif

HICAS.. I'll post a picture.. we remove the hicas rack and put rose joints on the hicas rod ends. Save weight and better handling.

Does this mean you're gonna make it to the RR day on saturday? Or is that water leak gonna stop you frown.gif

HMMMMM! Andy thats strange wink.gifrose jointed you? I said I had these fitted on a post about six weeks ago,and said how good they were biggrin.gifYour reply to me was can't see the point BLAAAA! BLAAAA!unless you use it on the track BLAAAAAAA! make your mind up mate biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif.

What is it with the hose connections on the rads?

Mine was phuket when Arriva Nelson got the engine apart!!! mad.gif

I've heard of loads of other people having this problem...Nelson do it on purpose I reckon, why? Because if they fuck the connection you can't just get a re-core to fix it! Well you probably can, but it's not a permy fix is it?

I had to have a brand new rad which SE got for me but probably at Nelson. About 300+ squid! Not funny!

Ok thanks for the replies people smile.gif Harve - I'll give you a call soon m8 wink.gif

As far as HICAS goes I really wanna keep it so removal is out of the question.....

Ian, the rose joints I was reffering to with you were the tension rods weren't they? The castor (tension rods) would only really need adjusting on the track. The links I am talking about is the upper links which will affect the camber, which changes as the ride height is altered wink.gif Could do with a chat actually Ian just to 'clear the air' wink.gif

Timmy, if nelson hadn't been in the battle of Waterloo, then he wouldn't have lost his eye, so he would have been able to design the stuff properly biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Andy, isn't the top link some sort of sliding bush type thingy ? Don't think that can be replaced with anything else. I've had two of the buggers fail - both the same side frown.gif

Erm sliding bush type thingy????? Its the front suspension upper links. The ones you can see at the top of the wheel...
