I have a 92 J reg N/A Jap import, I have had a delimiter fitted and Uk dials which show up to 180 mph I have also had fitted a HKS twin super dragger straight through S/S exhaust system, HKS Super Megaflo Airfilter and Hard pipe induction pipes The top speed is only 140 mph. I need more power i am looking at Nitrous and a chip but i dont know which chips and which Nitrous system and who in Devon installs and how much? Wouldnt mind more power without nitrous if poss.

Hi speedemon, mine currently has Blitz induction, kakimoto cat back exhausts and hard pipe kit and has hit 145mph, I have a chip from DTA to fit, then looking into headers, decat and underdrive pulley so will see where that gets me, may go further as I am looking to get her to about the same speed as a standard TT if possible, personally I want to do this with NOS but that is through personal choice. So far I have spent most time replacing things like PCVs, S2 PTU replacing all connectors etc, all that is sorted now so the big work begins.

Yeah i coul probably get 145 mph pushing to absolute max. I think if i could get 160 mph out of it i would be chuffed.

My best speed so far this year has been 90.23 mph. Only mod is cone air filter. I am having a BlueFlame Zorst fitted next week on Friday and also going to change to my new Stllen High flow airfilter. Next to stages are "decat pipes" (waiting to see zorst on then I will decide on plain or mini expansion box type), and then I have Stainless Steel headers waiting to be fitted !

My long term goal too is to obtain "stock TT" power without the tubs!

I know that mentioning the "Stillen" word usually provokes howls of derision etc but if you get a catalog (from Mike at MJP Eastern Auto) you can see all the N/A mods listed and an estimate of the power produced.

Now if anyone in the UK can do me some Extrude Honed Plenums at a realistic price then please let me know!!

The figures from Stillen with horsepower gains is available online somewhere, just looking for it now.

No prices, I will be sourcing everything through the traders on here and using their knowledge as to what is best, have already made a few enquiries.

Now dependin on the accuracy of the speedo? I got 145mph and my n/a's stock. Dont know if there was any more coz I bottled out.

The Audi TT that was playin with me at the time wasnt to happy, he thought he was gonna leave me till I passed im. :D

You can be sure the guy in the car with the blue light on will deffo be accurate though :headvswal

Mine hits a limiter at 130 but it's still accelerating well - I think it'd go to at least 150 with the limiter removed, judging by the way my 200SX got to 140.

I think Scotty's had his NA to about 150 and Choppers makes 400bhp (or 300 w/o nitrous) I think.

I got lots of bits laying around the bed room.

Intake,

Hard pipes,

Headers,

Underdrive pully,

Looking at exhaust all the way through with decat pipes.

But totaly stuck on where to go for the chip.. Any ideas.

I would really like to get it up to around 280hp. close to a stock TT

Anyone think of anything I missed?

And know you'r going to get home again. He He!

;) Or suffer the lag which caused some people who've had NAs and TTs to prefer the NA. :D

153 @ 7.2k upto now

We are currently undergoing alot of work on improving the performance of the stock N/A. When research is complete we are aiming to supply 2 upgrade paths. The first being mild at approx 260bhp and the second more involved method coming in @ around 300bhp. Our test car is in between these 2 at the moment. Our aim is to simply carry on were others have givin up, too many people say you can not upgrade the N/A within financial reason. We aim to prove otherwise.

Both packages should be availabe once our research is complete, around May time, so hold on to your horses until then.

Details to follow

PS..Pete the stock badly designed plenum is good for >800 bhp in its present form, I dont think EH it would make any difference on a lower power N/A, or if it did it would be the most expensive BHP for your $ upgrade ever.

Yeah go for it Craig..

This is going to be another NA v tt thing aint it..

Have any of these tt guy's ever driven an NA.. (Oh no cos they aint even driven there owne tt further than the nearest garage)

An NA with the same HP as a tt will win every time. No lag means a 60yard start...

LOL Dave it sure is expensive!! But porting an inlet manifold is old skule tried and tested tuning, but I take your point that on the 300Zx engine it might not achieve much.

Maybe Steve Millen would LEND us one to "evaluate"???

Oh yeh, had the pleasure of both  - N/A 1st, Central20 tuned, absolutely amazing car, loved it................... but it still aint a TT

Had no problems with the TT - faultless so far :nelson: so it never has needed a garage yet.... well apart from the garage that sells petrol  it will launch from the line boosting, and on song theres absolutely no lag between gears either(manual). Leaves the biggest of grins too.

As to which is best - can't answer, both totally brilliant in their own environment but very different cars to drive, would love to try an N/A with TT power though :)

Well , as a TT driver who owned an NA (235 rwhp) on a chip, air intake and exhaust, I would say that it would be relatively easy to improve on the stock figures and take it to well within the reaches of a stock TT. My own personal choice of weapon would be:

Chip, intake, exhaust, lightened pulley/ flywheel, ported intakes, headers.

Put together correctly I see no reason why the above would not bring you into the same ballpark as a standard TT. Things to remember: the N/a will pull all the way to 7500 and beyond, and playing with timing and VVTC within the .bin file on your chip will have a for more beneficial effect on the NA than on the TT, especially in the higher reaches of the rev range, when the standard turbos have run out of puff.

The most common chip for an NA is the standard Devin chip labelled 270.bin which will take advantage of a free air flow and exhaust, there are more meaty ones available, if you know the right people ;)

I think it's time I had a ride down to see you Jock. What do you say?

I got all the bits but no chip. Think we should have a little talk, you and me..
