Worst case scenario. Just bought a Z32 TT on a J plate. It didnt even get back home when the power faded and blue smoke bellowed out both pipes. Compression testing showed no compression whatsoever for 3 cylinders. Ive been advised best way to proceed is to replace engine! Wheres the best places to get hold of one? How much do they cost?

Unless the engine you have is comphrehensively destroyed I would always go for a rebuild, that way you know whats what. Putting another 2nd hand engine in with unknown history can prove expensive - in the short term ! Should you happen to get a good one, then you may be lucky.

2nd that! get it checked 1st by some one with a cyl leakage tester, then see what the damage is before deciding on a 2nd hand lump

Tizer trust me I am pissed beyond belief!! Ive had the engine compression checked and on the right bank, 2 out of the 3 cylinders are showing zero compression. The others are all ok. The fuel filter on the car ive been told is far too small and probably has something to do with it. The guy I bought it off just replaced that filter so maybe I have some come back there. cheers for all your help :)
