Have just seen this advertised on autotrader, Stalham near Norwich.

L939 KNT. 1994 Bright RED, UK spec TT auto with only 3 owners. Apparently high miles but well looked after. Anyone know it? Whats a good price for it? Theyre asking £3995

theres equivalent cars on autotrader for £2.5k

depends what your looking for

has it got leather etc

its not modified

Id hold on I paid 3.9k for mine as it is a SWB with 19" OZ's 60k twin turbo black t-top etc

Id wait mate

I'd say price seems fair, especially for its year, but depends on mileage. If its higher than 100k, then that will bring price down. There are so many low mileage examples out there, it does'nt make too much sense to buy a high mileage version.

I certainly wouldn't spend anything less than £3.5k on a zed, and you should expect it to need work for that money...and no way £2.5k, unless its a project car and you know its faults.

I agree with Legrath, buying cheap might well be buying trouble. Get what you pay for, usually

Ditto.....

....buyer beware!

I know the price of the ZX has apparently fallen recently but IMO that is due to the number of bad examples being peddled out there. Unfortunately that will affect the price of good ones as buyers simply compare prices in the adverts without seeing the cars.

Take your time and buy wisely, look what cars are for sale here on the forum as they will have been well looked after. Oh and beware of new imports - most of the good ones were imported ages ago, traders are importing any old crap now and they all seem to have 56000 miles on the clock.....

Good hunting

Richard

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

I agree, I recently test drove a 93reg tt standard, just in the country 5 weeks. Im new to Z`s but I found 8 bad faults, really badly abused example, just walked away. still searching.

Do any of you guys have any tales to tell about the Z`s you bought, only to find a nightmare developing when you drove away in it, Iv heard a few stories on here so far that would make your hair stand on end, itl help the new guys to hear what the seasoned lads know.

Cheers JP.

put a seperate post up john it will get more feedback,if you find a z il come and look with you so you dont buy a dog ;)

take care greg

I would never, ever in the whole world pay 2.5k for a Z, I wouldn't even buy one for 3.5k.

4.5k is heading in the right direction.

At the end of the day you get what you pay for, its fine to get a real ****ed car for 2.5k that will last a couple of hundred miles, but when the 1,000's of pounds of repairs come flooding in, people wish they had spent out that little extra for a good one.

See it all the time on here, someone buys a cheap Z, next thing you know within a week, they are on about selling, scrapping etc etc, cause its died on them.
