I've been reading through the English version of the Falcon Jap site, and have come across this link for the ideal lighting patern for HID's.

The problem I have is that it wont let me register to find out how to do it. So does anyone know how this lighting patern is achived?

Apparentley keeping the HID's on while flashing, will increase the life expectancy of them, so this could be of interest to all who have them fitted.

all you need to do is permanently connect the dimmer relay to ground for the main beam so it doesnt switch it out when you use high beam, i'll try and find the diagram

sounds interesting, if you can find the diagram I'll be having a go at this, HIDs and high beam at the same time!! :) really blind some people with that setup! haha

Have a look at this

'I THINK' all you have to do is permanently connect pin 4 of the dimmer relay (the black one) to the chassis ground, unless someone can correct me.

As I look at the diagram, both the head lights and the high beam share the same ground, but when you either flash or stick high beam on, the ground switches from one to the other, linking pin 4 to ground will not switch out the headlights making all 4 lights come on.

Yes, same as jap as my lights packed up and folowed the diagram, exactly as it is, light turned out to be a fooked (not blown) inline fuse

That's the reverse :

As soon as you switch on the low beams, high and low beams share the same +12V power supply (come from the headlights relays after the 15A fuses).

The switch between both is performed by switching the ground thanks to the dimmer relay.

What you want to do for HID to keep them on when flashing on high beam : simply don't use the ground (black wire) provided by the std connector (then you use the switched +12V only) but ground your HID ballast to the body ground.

FYI, some ballasts are sensitive to the voltage drop when you switch on your high beam (instantaneous current drawn), then check carefully the fuses contacts are not corroded. I had this problem, one of the ballasts switched off as soon as I switched on the high beam due to the instantaneous voltage drop.
