The red 6,995 90G TT.

It's a good deal older than I wanted to go, and it's also crap load of £££. However, it's one of the only TTs locally - looks like it's had a fortune spent on it.

I'm told, and seems to be backed up from what I've read here to avoid early ones if possible, is this too old do you reckon?

Looking at the pictures of the correct car, it looks like it has been looked after well. Time and money has been spent making the engine look like that.

I dont believe the about avoiding the early ZX any more, as after 15 years the troublesom components would have been replaced a long time ago.

Isnt there any forum members selling at hte moment? Im sure you would be better of going that route as you will be able to know more about the car and what has been done to it. I would deffo buy my next one from a forum member as the one I bought from a garage was a nail. Its still a nail but not as bad a nail as it was LOL.

aggghhh must not look at rx7 :slap: :slap: :slap:

damn - always wanted one of those

Regards,

alex

RX7 Mmmmmmmm. Like those, notice their falling in price at the moment.

...at least YOU would fit in an RX7.

and as usual...its got a rebuilt engine. Not seen one advertised that has'nt had or required one. :(

Nice looking cars though.

.

Do you think? I have seen inside them and they look cramped. I know people who tried to sit in them but they where too fat to fit, so he gto a MR2 instead.

Hardehar mr Legarth. Pity your fat head would not fit on one LOL

 £7k for a 1990........i would go and see it cos they are selling for around the £3-4k mark....

:D But the convertable is a different matter :D

Yeah, I think that one was around when I was looking. £7k is a pile of cash for one that old. I'd phone up and see what the list of mods is like. On the plus side it does look like it's been looked after well. The reason I never looked at it (I think it's the same one) is because I wanted one in either black or pearl white (and if the latter then with full bodykit + decent high level spoiler). No harm in going for a look though.

... if you really do want to spend £7k on a Z then how about this one. It's some distance away from you I'd imagine: autotrader reports it as 215 miles from me and I'm in Cambridge.

That said, tart that I am if it had been available a few weeks ago I would definitely have gone for a look.... 'course if you don't like blue.

As most of the above say, seems to be loads of cash for 1990, especially as they are selling k-reg ones up here for between 5k and 6k. Plus you want a black one as thay are the best by far!!!!!!!!!

Went to look at it, idled roughly, and white smoke poured out of n/s exhaust, but was otherwise pretty mint. Is this a *****cksed turbo, or something less sinister?

I appreciate you saying buy a car off here, but unless they wanna give me Glasses A1 trade for my part ex, I'm a bit screwed, and I can't be arsed to dispose of my own car elsewhere I'm far too lazy - I'd rather kick a dealer down tbh.

I've looked at 4 300ZXs, 2RX7s, A Supra and an MR2-Turbo today, all other than the MR were utter dogs.

Forgot to add that the boost guage sat pretty solidly on the first line after -14. Not sure if that matters, I really don't understand this forced induction tom foolery.

All right. I'm not familiar with the mechanical side of things particularly, but let me put it this way: £7k for a car that might have a turbo problem? Or some other "less sinister" problem that causes a rough idle and white smoke? It's a lot of wonga and I really think you can do better if you're willing to shell out that much.

I wouldn't pay 7k for it, it really isn't the issue. You could easily rack up £2k on one 2k cheaper anyway. It has had water pump/belts and a professional engine rebuild, it has clearly had a fortune lavished on it, I'm just trying to figure out if it is worth anywhere near what it's up for, before i kick him in the nuts for it.

I live in Peterborough and could look at it if that helps. I'm no expert though. It seems a expensive but the protection you get if you buy from a dealer could be worth ££££.

What do you think he paid for it? I bet it was no more than £3k.

It CAPS at 3075, so somewhere in that region. He's had the yellow one since late 2003, so i suspect he might be up for getting rid of at least one 300zx quickly.
