It's one of several on the Autotrader that doesn't state it's flavour. Is there an easy visual/spec clue, or is it safe to assume it's an N/A?

Ta.

I think we've come to the conclusion that it's an N/A. So hi-jack away, all the tales of woe might make me come to my senses again...

This thread I think has been hijacked, should be unlucky zed owners club!!

lol - I do have clear side repeaters though!

TT stands for turbo trouble - get an NA, but deffinatly DEFFINATLY not an auto. You cant drift an auto

I've driven several NA's before ruling them out, they aren't any quicker than what I have, despite costing double to insure, plus - I can't make it go tish. I can drift (or at least "slide") an auto too...

U must be the luckiest zed owner ever lol

Ooohhhh, you little tinker!

Well I like my car!

:duffer:

 took fookin ages to find mine had to be black had to be manwel had to have leather had to be tt. took so long i gave up and bought an escort gti. then drivivg to a mates house 4 miles away 1 month later passed a forcourt and there it was couldnt belive my look everything on the must list and aftermarket alloys, front bumper and spoiler needless to say i left a deposit and colected it 3 days later

what a fookin good day that was

And NA stands for No Acceleration!! :smw:

You cant drift an auto

Maybe you cant chump!!

:p

LMAO!!

Hmm... I think I phoned up about this one a while ago (I just bought my Z about three weeks ago but had been looking for around 6 months before that) and from memory I think it's a N/A. You might want to phone them and check though.

Now, here's a related whinge, but please indulge me: it's late and I can well empathise with your frustration.

During 6 months of hunting for a Z I got *well* fed-up of having to phone people up because they hadn't stated the following pieces of what I would consider to be fairly crucial information, and particularly when it was dealers who sell cars for a living and who therefore ought to know better:

- Mileage

- Manual or automatic

- N/A or TT

- 2 + 2 or SWB

- Model year

- Interior trim

- Targa or slick top

What got up my nose even more was when people (again, particularly dealers) forgot pieces of the above information but stated things like "Very quick car" in the advert. What?!? WHAT??!??!?. Of course it's a quick car; why are you telling me it's a quick car?!? It's a 300 ZX!!! They're all quick!! That's why I want one! If I wanted a granny car I wouldn't be looking at flaming 300 ZXs in the first place. Tell me something I don't know about it for goodness sake. Grr.

Sorry, I get quite strident about this. Shouldn't let it get to me. Just wanted to say I know how it is when you find what looks like it might be a good car but don't quite have all the information.

Its a PITA....but if they miss out information....you phone them up and then they get to use there sales pitches on you :(

Unless they're a specialist trader, the customer will probably

know more about the z than they do!

Usually find the ads that dont state the mileage are high mileage

cars, they ALWAYS state that it has a HRW (heated rear windscreen) though!

And RWW (rear wash wipe), all of which are standard on a base

model corsa shitbox!! :xxx:

there was 45 300s on autotrader web site yesterday when i checked ....some mules but some looked good motors try there

Why don't you just call them and ask?

Because they were shut when i posted the thread on Thursday Night. It is an N/A.

Theres 15 trade 300ZX's within 80miles of me, of which 4 are Twin Turbo and physically here. I've looked at all of them, and they're all shite...Theres a few nice private ones, and a few that are still in the land of the rising sun - but neither is any good to me.

Mate, I know EXACTLY how you feel, but you've just got to keep looking. There will be a decent one out there, but even there you can expect a few teething problems. Mine's solid: mechanically, structurally, bodywork all great. No rust, no welding.

A really clean example, but guess what? She's just cracked a wheel right through one of the spokes for no apparent reason and it can't be welded because it might fail again at speed. Now it's all under warranty so it's not that big a deal but the wheels are some oddball Japanese brand that seems to be quite hard to get hold of so I basically need a whole new set: the dealer's going to find me another set or if I don't like them give me £300 towards it but being basically fussy I'm looking for just the right set of wheels, and it looks like that'll set me back £500 - £800 in total, but of course I'll be paying £300 less than this. It's a hassle but I budgeted £1000 extra for sorting bits out.

But in the end I think it'll be more than worth it. I'm telling you, driving the thing is fantastic. I missing having it like hell at the moment having to drive around in my old Clio, which luckily I hadn't yet sold. All Zs are great cars (at least if they've been looked after), but I *love* my manual TT. It looks great, it sounds great, it goes like the clappers, and popping from 2nd into 3rd and then 4th on a manual is just fantastic. Mind you, the back end is a bit twitchy but I imagine having driven BMWs you'll be more comfortable with the rear wheel drive from the start than I was / am: I still drive around town in it like a granny at the moment.

Like I say just keep looking: it really will be more than worth it in the end when you find a decent one.

Thanks buddy, I appreciate what you're saying. It is what i want, so i do need to be patient, but I don't have the temprement to keep looking at heaps of crap, especially since my current car is near perfect, 220bhp, silent and bullet proof. It has everything i need, just not what i WANT.

I keep looking at other stuff, but i've always wanted a Z - finally allowed myself to get one, and can't find one. Off again tomorrow so a long distance jaunt may be in the offing...

LOL. Bullet proof? What do you need a bullet proof car for?

Cos i live near Tony Martin?
