Bit of a double edged sword that one bud, make you right that anyone who FsU should put their hand up to it, but I make you wrong for losing your rag and swinging at the bloke, thats at best going to cause ill feeling at worst make you look unprofessional and put you in the situ your in now. Just my 20p (inflation :))

i can see im gunna get bad feed back on this mate and i am expecting it but ............................... i didnt think i would get sacked for it. i dont think it made me unprofessional coz it was behind closed doors and so the client or any other person saw it apart from the team.

I agree with everthing you said sir. Nah i hate people that mess up then wont admit to it, especially when it effected the rest of the team. Maybe sticking them in hospital was a wee bit over the top, but i wasnt there when the sh1t hit the fan.

Very sorry to hear you lost you job.

The other guy was clearly in the wrong. And it's great you feel really passionate about your job and your team and their overall performance.

But I'd say it probably wasn't the best thing to hit him. It's unprofessional and probably doesn't help anything, just causes more grief (especially for you).

Hope it all works out.

And army special units / bodyguarding ?

I'm just some soft desk job paper pusher.

Sorry to hear this mate. hope it wont affect any future employment in the same field.

Always crap when someone else fecks up and you get it in the neck. Maybe with hindsight wasn't the best thing to do, but hope it all works out.

Well starting with your last statment what a stupid thing to post! So are you saying that because you are all ex soldiers from specialist units we all have to agree with your actions?

Do you want honesty or do you want sympathy because you got fired?

Gona go with Maca there troop. If it was an in-unit squable you and i both know it would go no further than a *****cking, posting and maybe extras and or fine.

In civy street mate it that means you get fired for hitting people reguardles of who said or did what and how justifyable you thnk you are in your actions. From an employers and clients perspective it promotes a bad image, neither want it even though in this case you are required to be able to do it. If the guy is in hospital you might want to have a quick chat to a lawyer as if he is out of work as a result you may be getting the bill.

Chalk this one up to experiance and i hope you get another job soon.

its clearly gross misconduct and with 98% of all other professions you would be on ure way to the local nick to face charges.......ex services or not you know what you did was wrong but at least you were man enough to admit it

lets just hope the incident doesnt follow you around

Not got a lot to say here fella, but even if he did deserve it, shouldnt do it in front of anyone mate, you and I both know that....having said that aggression is controlable and can be chanaled else where.

Left my job last thu due to this :x: i walked cos i knew i was going to do someone damage :nono:

And as you say being Ex mil :slap: you should know different :D

Startup on your own as the A-Team..."Shuddup fool, ain't gettin' on no plane...sucka!!!" you know it makes sense!

top advise by Timmy as always

You were paid to be a guard, you put the customer in direct view when you lost control, and showed that you were unable to control your temper sorry mate.

And as for ex services, well that has no bearing on now really, i was an ex bed wetter once, but not now.

I do feel sorry for you, and fully know you wont want to hear this, but its my opinion and it was asked for.

I think, you should have dealt with the problem weeks ago, then taken the answere to your employee, so he never had to question your ability...

You could then have had the guy who fked up sacked or trained further mate

thx for all your input lads, looking bac on it now i do feel for the bloke and abit myself, i should of thought of the after effects, but i dont know if any of you have been in the mil, but like sum one else said if this would of happened they would of just told us we were ****ers and told us to have it out sumwere else, and seen as though he was ex mil, i thought he would of just taken the slap and that would be it, but how wrong was i....... only been out 18mths now and 10 mths of that has been out in Iraq. this is my first civi job, and wow are they bullshitty out here... DO NOT TAKE OFFENCE PLEASE IM NOT SAYING CIVIS ARE LIKE THIS BUT I AM FINDING IT HARD. AFTER 7 YRS IN THE ARMY. CIVI STREET IS HARD.

i hope i have sum people that might understand were im coming from.

thx again guys.

It's easy to see where your coming from mate, but in all honesty, you need to get away from this type of work, and leave the mil as far in the distance as you can,,,,,,

You want to settle, get a job that has no reminders of the forces dude ;)

its easyer said then done mate, its all i no really, i have qualifications coming out my ass to do with sercurity, and we all do wat we do best and mine is just this.

it has hit home now, and i no money isnt an issue at the moment but, we do get board at home and theres only so long you can be down the gym for.

i feel great talking bout it, even though i am getting slayted, thx for been there guys.......

First priority for any close protection or even door work for that matter is to remain calm. TBH mate, I would have sacked you. Throwing fists about and spitting the dummy is the last thing you should be doing. I presume the specialist forces work in exactly the same way, so I'm a bit confused?? Maybe you should become a screw instead:D

How well do u know the guy you decked? maybe an idea to make ammends rather quick.

1) self healing

2) he MAY be able to sway your old employee

3) he wont sue your ass for the *****x we are now able to sue for

Also mate, your not getting slatted, you did what you did, and thats it....

Now if ya wanna see slatting, tell us your a minder for jacko, and were also hired to change nappies

jacko no way, hate stars, they just use people like me as a tool and not wat were ment to do,

from wat it looks like i think people are getting it wrong on here, this never happened infront of my client or at his house, this happened when we went for a pub lunch together just me and the other 3 team members.......

karl

Then what grounds did they have to sack you ? do you have reason for un fair dismissal ?

Sorry, i got the impression the client was around at the point of touch down :smash:

this happened when we went for a pub lunch together just me and the other 3 team members.......

karl

I thought you were competing in 10 weeks?

I thought you were competing in 10 weeks?

LOL You don't have pub lunches 10 weeks out

Still waiting for you to answer my question?

9 weeks now for the comp and boiled chicken you can eat all day long. pub lunch doesnt mean you eat scampi and chips and drink fosters.

wat i mean by been ex mil is the fact that when squaddies fight its between them and it doesnt go any further and no bosses get involved.

however here in this case, the little prick wat fcuked up and made us all look stupid grassed me up for slapping him.

thinking about wat u all have said and wat has happened i think its hard to see were im coming from and i think if you all would have seen how stupid we looked from his mistake then, you would see were i am coming from and did wat i did, im not a bad or a bully, i am a proper workaholic and i love my job and i will do the best i can to get the job done but wen i look stupid coz of sumone else and my rep goes down the drain thats when i get pissed off. and thats just wat happened.....................

karl

you must slap hard then if he's in hospital. 9 weeks out from a comp, I could barely scratch me own arse

thx for all your input lads, looking bac on it now i do feel for the bloke and abit myself, i should of thought of the after effects, but i dont know if any of you have been in the mil, but like sum one else said if this would of happened they would of just told us we were ****ers and told us to have it out sumwere else, and seen as though he was ex mil, i thought he would of just taken the slap and that would be it, but how wrong was i....... only been out 18mths now and 10 mths of that has been out in Iraq. this is my first civi job, and wow are they bullshitty out here... Did 9 years mate and another 4 with MOD which was a good buffer, took 3 years for me to adjust, and even now, everytihing I do is army. But the brotherhood ends when you walk out the gate mate. Out in civi street its a whole different ball game reguardless of what your profession. Long gone are teh days of watching peoples back, look after your own.

And the worse ones are ex-service for some fooked up warped reason.

i am a proper workaholic and i love my job and i will do the best i can to get the job done

If that's true, surely people in your industry won't be too bothered that you lashed out at someone else in the same trade and you'll be fine. It's not like you're a teacher who beats up the kids or anything.

It's no fun being sacked, especially as you were in the right until you started hitting and of course you have my sympathy.

I wouldn't say 'yes, you did the right thing' though no matter who was or wasn't there at the time. If you think you were in the right then maybe you were as you know all the facts. I'm not a fan of violence except as a total last resort.
