Hi, I'm upgrading my air intake for the z32 uk spec tt. I have been told the apexi is a good choice. Now , from what I believe it is a dry type to stop the oil in these filters wrecking the afm unit.. Does that mean you chuck them out when they are dirty and at £100 or so a touch, seems high, but if that is the price you pay for improved bhp then why not!! What do you wise folks think..apexi or blitz etc...... :D

Blitz & Apexi are both excellent filters I personally use the greddy filters which are also top draw. If you want the Blitz or Greddy give me a shout :)

The filters dont need to be chucked away, the Blitz one just needs to be cleaned with High Pressure Air from what I understand.

Hi there Chris, I recently bought an import 300zx twin turbo. Dont really know much about the car other than its stupidly fast. I need to do alot of the standard upgrades such as induction kit, dump valve, i understand your a trader. Could you advise me of your recommendations including any other mods i can do. thanks

Simple guide to upgrades, is for as much air into the engine as you can, make sure the engine suplies the correct fuel/timing for the extra air and then get it back out the car as quick as you can. So Induction kit (sucks in more air) Chip (sorts out the fuelling) Boost Controller/Jets (Gets the turbo's to force more air into the engine), Sports Exhaust (get it all back out again)

Hi there!

I'm also an official trader on this forum and can source any part you require. My upgrade advise always starts with "ensure your engine is running absolutely spot-on before you start upgrading". Ensure the following are checked and changed:

Cambelt, ancillary belts, water pump and thermostat - change all

Oil filter, fuel filters and oil change - change

PCV valves & hoses, TPS, transmission fluids, powersteering fluids - check and change where necessary

O2 sensors and all electrical connectors - check for functionality (O2 sensors) and clean all electrical connectors

Vacuum lines - check for leaks

Water lines - check for leaks

I'm sure there are some more bits and pieces you can check/change whilst you're at it but the above would be the minimum.

Once you are sure the engine couldn't run any better you can start upgrading - remember to notify your insurance company of any changes made to the car as failure to do so may/will invalidate your policy.

The following are DTA-Motorsport prices (my company):

Induction Kit: A'PEXi PowerFlow :£85

Exhaust: Mongoose cat-back (stainless steel) : £510 (delivered)

Chip: DTA Performance Chip : £65 (plus an ECU socketing fee if required)

Boost: A'PEXi AVC-R electronic boost controller : £285 (need to check current pricing but I think this is round about average), or custom made boost jets : £36

Brakes: stainless steel braided brake hoses : £90

Brakes: DTA brake brace bracket: £25

Strut Braces: front and rear: £140

Anti-sway bars: Stillen : £240

The above list is just a small sample of what we can supply and the choice is of course completely up to you as to which products you choose.

If you have any further questions please feel free to contact me on 07044016586 for a discussion.

I hope the above has helped your understanding somewhat.

All the best,

Dan

Could have sworn he said Chris in there Dan

hi there,

thanks for the info. Do you have prices of dump valves aswell? I'm particularly looking for a nice high pitched one ;-) any recommendations guys?

khaled

Loudest ones I know of are the Turbo XS ones, which Cartman has on his motor. But the Blitz, HKS and such like are pretty noisy too. Bailey which I have will probally be to quiet for ya.

I have a Blitz induction SUS fitted to my Car and you cant hear a damn thing.

In fact I even went and bought one not knowing there was one already fitted to my car..

I havent heard a 300zx yet with and induction kit that makes a proper induction noise...

which is a bit poo really because my old rover 216 gti with its honda engine sounded good with a pipercross

Well i have experience with all of the filters and the Blitz is probably the loudest tone of all of them, probably something to do with the metal mesh design.

Here is my GReddy twin setup
