Just been told to remind you that we are running the GOTY (Game of the Year) version of Unreal Tournament. This has bonus levels and stuff. I recommend people to download the bonus packs from www.unrealtournament.com to save them having to download the levels before play. We have had some weird compatability problems between people with the original UT and the GOTY version but all I can do is say that if you get an error, check on the forums at the Unreal Tournament website and search for the error you get - there are fixes and solutions for most of them. Failing that, HMV are selling UT GOTY version for only £10 !!!! You can't go wrong with that so go get a copy this lunchtime if you dont have the game and join in tonigh!!!

 

BTW, the GOTY version comes in a dvd style case with 2 cd roms inside. There is a blue picture on the front with a gold trophy on it.

Can we use a server where we don't have to measure the ping with a calender - I was getting 250-300ms there, when I normally get about 1/5 of that.

 

I know a good server if anyone is interested?

go into unreal tornamnet directory and

directory called system

delete the DE files inside system directory then the servor will download the new one for you

Remove files, de.int & de.u from your UT system directory. When you connect to server they will be DL again but UT should then work. Files are mega small so should only take a minute.

Yeah, I'd like to know too. ATI make top hardware but their drivers usually suck. Thats where Nvidia are good.

Not a lot I could do when one second I was in one room, and the next second I was staring at a wall and firing 6 rockets Something very wrong with BT last night methinks. My ping went to 1060 at one point!

BT is, unfortunately, always crap for online play. I use www.titandial.net whenever I play on-line, gives me very low pings and *no* dopped packets, ever. Dropped packets are what make you 'jump' from place to place - usually to in front of a wall just as the 6th rocket clicks into place.

 

The thing is, you have to pay for performance. As an 0845 number it's not very expensive, but when compared to the 0800 ISP's it's infinitely more expensive. Still, what good is free internet if you can't use it...
