when braking I'm getting vibrations through the steering wheel at 50mph+ speeds. I'm also getting some light pulsing of the brake pedal, especially noticable at low speeds and light application of the brakes.

Now a bit of background, I've recently (2 months) put R34 calipers, grooved discs and new carbon kevlar pads on. As soon as I tried a serious stop with the new setup I had very heavy virations, the whole car was shaking, and this was due to the tension rod bushes being ripped to shreads. I had new adjustables waiting to go on, so no big deal.

Now that the suspension has all been sorted and I'm still gettting the symptoms above (not as severe thankfully) I guess it can only be down to the discs. So they are either warped  or I think most likely, the pads have left an uneven surface as I couldn't break them in.

Either way, what should I do now? Can the discs be skimmed, can any garage do that? or do i need to try different pads (have a spare set)

Just looking for some advice really.

Jaffa mate, i know your skyline discs were skimmed prior to you receiving em, so doubt that's the probs.

are all your wheels the same - if so try a front/back swap - i found that i had a flat spot on one of my tyres which you couldnt really notice when going along but was really noticable under breaking -

mmmmmm, well i had same set up on my old Z,soon as i fitted then it was apparent there was a problem somewhere, had exactly same syptoms as you Jaffa, turnd out it was the lower suspension arm bush, the big one,and you cant replace just the bush, had to get new nearside arm assembly, from Mr F,and its not cheap :( ,but sorted it all out i can tell you, plus dont forget to get it tracked up when done,Tony.

PS,PITA to split the ball joint too

It's weird though as I didn't have it before, so maybe the extra stopping power is showing a new weekness, or it's because I didn't bed the pads in.

I think the discs were fine when I received them as I didn't get the pulsing through the brake pedal until more recently. that's why I'm suspecting the brake bed in issue.

Tony, that's an interesting one, probably only bushes on the car that didn't get replaced!!

when you fit your new disc's did you clean the hub's with sand paper to get rid of the rust, i had simalar problems when i fit mine. thought i'd warped them by not bedding them in properly. had disc's checked, re-cleaned the hubs and worked fine since

no, I didn't, I'll try that when I get a chance. Thanks!

Low speed pulse almost certainly means warped disc(s). If they're not too bad then you may get away with doing what Scubie says and then torqueing up the wheel nuts very gently and evenly.
