hi

Unfortunately the standard lights on all zx's are quite poor. there are ways around it by turning your fog lamps into driving lights or getting a HID kit (mike feeney at mjp eastern auto can tell you more). I 've never found changing bulbs to make much of a difference

The globes look frosted because they are probably very dirty, do a search on here, there are ways to clean them up a bit without dismantling them, but for the best results take them out strip them and do it properly, have the inserts chromed and fit a HID kit, did mine like that, expensive but they are the best lights ive ever seen on a car now.

headlights are just plain shite - but cleaning the inside of the glass usually makes loads of difference.

edit: sorry just read post from suffolk - so no need to repeat :headvswal you dont have to strip the lights though - it's fiddly but you can do it -

I've had good results by switching to Osram Super H3 bulbs :)

fancy fitting me a pair macy baby :D

Or if you're feeling the urge to really see where you're going fit a HID kit - available in 6000K and 8000K from DTA-Motorsport (in the traders section) and completely plug-n-play! I do of course recommend cleaning the headlights first ... always helps ;)
