nissan drivers Chicken?

Do any of you guys Auto cross. Cuz you talk about power like it is everything. I live in Michigan so i am not fimilular with what is popular on the other side of the ocean.

It is mostly about the "feel" of the car. Can you feel the approaching limits and how hard the driver thinks the car can handle to be pushed. I here about "yeah i pulled up to a red light next to a 1000hp porsche and i smoked his butt" what talent it must take to drive in a straight line. Almost as much as it does to make most of your lies.

You will find that most of the guys on this forum have their Z as their main and posibly only car. I know I do.

Therefore, hurtling round a track every weekend slightly dents the bank balance.

I am only a puppy when it comes to being a Z owner and have not yet got my car ready for the Indionapolis 500.

However, I know 300Z and a few of the other guys like to put on a good show at Santa Pod on the 1/4 mile stretch. I hope to be there also before next June when I am running more boost on my new Turbs.

At the moment, I just have to settle for subtle traffic light and round-about racing.

steady on fella..

Autocross is slow compared to proper track work. By proper track work I mean race track (or road ciruits you guys call it) So I wouldn't be too quick to judge. Personally the racetrack (road racing in US speak) is what I live for. Autocross as far as I know you don't get out of 3rd gear in Zeds, I've seen footage from the ClubZ guys in SoCal and it's just nothing like trackwork. Heck you're allowed to go round with your t/tops off. Danger factor = negatory, just a spin and a bit of a smoke, whereas on a circuit...

Anyway thats from a Kiwi perspective (down under in New Zealand) and we're much like the brits.

I hafta tell you guys that i really appreciate an honest response. I figured with the name i used Id get 12 remarks from "duffman". Autox'in i dont get outta 2nd. I am not prepared for track use. My porsche is pretty much a daily dirver also.

Autox'in and trackin' take much more TALENT drivin straight. I ROFLMAO when i hear people driving automatic trans's on a 1/4 mile track.

ok man how fast people forget, no offence m8t but dont you have your own porshe forum you can go to, and spend time on because this is a 300zx forum afterall.

we had a thread close off this morning because an outsider came in and started calling us this and that, i mean whats the poin tof comming onto a nissan forum and slag us of blah blah blah. Go to your own and od that. Or tell your m8ts at school or whatever.

We wish.

You are lucky to have so many track events in the states. I see that it normal for college students to be able to afford Zs, which always amazed me. Over in the UK it's a much more expensive affair owning a Z... like fuel is currently just under $4USD per US Gallon over here... I wont even start with the parts and labour prices.... smile.gif

Z ya.

Yesterdays thread was fairly funny until it got nasty - today is a fresh new day so why don't you all piss off back to your own forums........

BBBG

There were posts all over Rennlist about you guys tearing up P car owners. So i checked it out and there were 3 different topics on it. I haven't "torn" n/e body up. Just lookin' for some info. I live in the states and am croius as to how you people are.

Besides aren't we all potential 300zx owners?

i have never seen a 300 zx at a track event in the states. Or a z28 for that matter.

jez.. you guys in the UK are the lucky ones.. you have soooo many tracks and airport runways. In the US it's all about Autocross and 1/4 miles. The proper tracks like laguna seca, road atlanta etc are so far apart - the US is just so big. In the UK and Europe you've also got the hell driving roads just like NZ. Autocross is good to learn low speed handling, but not high speed track work, thats where it's at m8ty.. smile.gif Tracks like Oultan park, croft, brands hatch, silverstone, etc etc.. oh yes please ! only problem is I couldn't put up with the weather over there frown.gif

Well I must say I am VERY offended!!! To be reffered to in the above manner when you don't even know me you've gotta say is like being back in the playground - at fuckin pre-school!!! If you look back you'll see I actually kept my gob shut once that thread started getting personal wink.gif

Get your facts straight before you start slagging!!!

Andy

So you're from the Rennlist eh? I was on there a while ago when I was looking to buy. I'm not gonna start on what I think most of the people on there are like. I'll stick to here and the Ferrari list I think.

Andy

Man if porshe 944's are better,

then just go to your forums.

lets us happily get along with our nice cars, (well they have to be because everyone else seems to be interested in what we do) and leave us be.

always kids in school, you knwo the ones, think they rule and are tough.

well, Im sorry that i insulted ya Mr. Duff.

truth is .....pcar driver's aren't wimps. They're usually just arseholes. no joke. I think they get so caught up in loving their cars that it just happens like this.

There are even polls with in rennlist about this.

But i still love my car. I also love 300z's

I just am not fortunate enough to see that many of them.

It just goes to show, it must be a very dull life , not being a zed owner, only wishing for one and not having the bottle to buy one!!

bottle? what do ya mean.

id never trade in the p car.

if i did id get a 3rd gen rx

bottle?

Quote from Supra forum....

"The 300 ZX guys haven't a hope in hell of beating the likes of 911's or MKIV's. We all know that (including they) so rubbing it in their faces isn't going to help."

Nuff said

maybe it comes down to maturity....

nobody in rennlist ever post anything about the drivers of other vehicles. It doesn't matter to them. I think the zed owners are the ones in need of "bottle". (is that out of context)? I think they love p cars too.

Ah and the pretend Timmy_Turbo strikes again.. (easily spotted by the - and pitiful post count...)

The last car in the world i would buy.....

is a new 911 turbo. Porsche has stepped outa line. The new cars are tooooo heavy(although somehow manage to hold the road) and they're making a friggin' SUV. I dont even think Nissan has n/e SUV over here. (do they there?)

I am infatuated w/ the late 70's 911 turbos.

I am not rubbing n/e thing n/e where.

with ref to bottle!! I mean when you buy a zed its not like buying a standard car, it come with all the baggage high maint...like expensive to run and modify, and dare not count the cost, which some people are put off by. on the plus it turns heads and people often say WOW what is THAT???not .......thats a nice porche !

Dont you find they lose interest once they find out its a body kitted Nissan?..though! biggrin.gif

In autoxluke defence. I can see anywhere where he has called anyone. He has asked a valid question and ppl bite his head off. I know that we are pissed off at some ppl who have come here just to cause trouble, but its no need to have a go at people who genuinly want to discuss stuff.

I think we all need to take deep breaths and count to 10.

All I'm going to say is don't rise to the bait, just ignore them.

This is now becoming an evening sport for some people.

Be happy with what you got, I knoe i am, who cares what others think. There entitled to their opinion and we're also entitled to ignore it.

Come on guys water off a ducks back.

Aye George.. Watter and all that..

(going all northern for a second there!)

I love my Zed (despite it being in bits at the moment!), I love my Renault (despite it handling like Zebedee on motorways at the moment!), loved my Renault 5 GTTubby.. And I'd even love to own a Porch one day - like when I could afford it.. Mid 80's 911 Turbo for me please, the tail happy killer biggrin.gif

Oh yeah, I wouldn't mind owning a big block v8, Dodge Charger or Mustang perhaps..

Why did I tell you all that? I dunno.. I'ts half past midnight and I'm tired biggrin.gif
