I wouldnt touch the ones of ebay, theres a chance they are not balanced correctly and there wont be any marks on the them for the crank position

best bet is to buy an SGP pulley or unorthodox one there balanced and have the correct markings on and make a big differance, because of the less weight there for more potential engine power :hyper:

"EDIT": just read gregs post..good point bout the markings and balencing...HHHmmmmmmm....Prehaps you should mail him and see what he says about the making and markings on it?"EDIT"

Looks a bargain to me.....4left.....hope someone lets us know soon...

Might be worth getting one...

Bout £100 cheaper than ive seen em else where...but you dont get belts with this as you do for the other ones ive seen.

Good find bud

:hyper:

Wouldnt get one till someone speaks up though...might just be knocked up in someones shed or be proffesionally made in their spare time but for that price i am sceptical

Whilst i maybe biased towards SGP or Unortodox yer have to ask yerself a couple of questions. Crank pulleys are made by UR in the US in their 1000's and by SGP in their 100's yet cost 4 times more so is this because they are ripping people off or manufacturing correctly ?

If things go tits up some time down the line with yer engine and it's proven to be the out of balance pulley the cause, what chance have you of some guy who makes these pulleys and still makes a profit out of 25 quid holding his hands up ? :nono:

So whilst the top names charge more, provide correct markings and pulley belts, sometimes it can justify the expense when you consider how much our cars cost to fix.

Ask the same question with above link on twinturbo.net and be prepared to be flamed :p yer pays yer money and you takes yer chances

cheers

GOOD POINT smithy....Think it would be best then to steer well clear of these as they cost less than £25 to make then their not gonna be preccision equipment.

And you dont get the belts!!! :smw:

Go to TT.net and say you have an unorthodox one or any other SPG one and you will get flamed.

They are not balanced with the engine. They are balanced with themselves but not with the engine.

A really good after market pulley will cost you over £500 for a lightened, balanced and dampened pulley.

Are yours supplied with belts smithy coz i will probably buy from you then.

His are....check his website out

Lovely bLiNg on there

Yes mate with belts to suit your application as jap spec use 1 belt smaller than UK and n/a use one same as after 94.

Stu, the quote above was in general relation to whats commonly available on the market and in particular for the Zed and to show that paying for a decent branded one, reduces your risks as i've never heard of anyone suing the mentioned companies, ever.

I do have to disagree on JUST your opening line though, as myself a member of that forum and regular seller, "search button" easily shows the results.

paul im fitting my SGP one in a week or so,is there absolutly no ill effects from fitting them, other than a slight increase in engine temp

always best to spend the money for a decent one - especially from a trader on here. i've been lured into spending pennies on so-called 300ZX mods off eBay and they've both turned out to be a bunch of crap.

I bought one, it arrived damaged and had no timing mark on it, when I asked the question to another ebay seller he did not supply with one on either, my oppinion forget it.

Just as well we checked...Definately won't be gettin crap like that from ebay then.

Thanks

Get the flywheel and clutch kit! - I'm well impressed with mine, probably the best two things I ever bought for my Z. Smithy's service is second to none too.
