nissan vs. porsche

I AM 18, and drive an 86' porsche 951. Before buying my car i was into 3rd gen rx7's. I get into the rivalry of the jap cars. (toyota/mazda/nissan). I test drove 4 rx7's and one 300zx. The z car was notable quicker than the rx. After lots of test driving and reading up I bought my 951 ($8,500).

A year later, i would be able to compare my 951 or n/e 911 ive driven to a 300zx. The zx is more like a Z28 while the 951 is more nimble and responsive.

The rx7 on the other hand was "porsche-like". But i was turned down to that idea after reading of the horrible "1993" issues "re'calls".

With two grand invested in my car i run high twelve 1/4's and my best 0-60 (4.86).

I have driven both and both are great cars. Dont knock it till you try it. mad.gif

????????????

Whats a 951? Don't remember that one. Is a Z28 some sort of vette? What specs are they?

Just curious

I think he means 911.

The Z28 is a camaro with a 5.7 V8, very fast, but handles about as well as an 80s' 911 (like a shopping trolley with bandy wheels wink.gif )

951 = 944 turbo

Z28 is a carmaro known for 1/4 mile times but handles kind of "disconnected"

has n/e body here ever driven a 911. They all handle excellent. "like go karts" Some describe them as being "tricky" though because of "trailing throttle" oversteer.

this occurs when the motor (rear) slightly lifts up after throttle is let off... and in return the rear wheels toe in inducing full oversteer.

911 (every year/model) are very agile and come nowhere near the "plowing" qualities the camaros possess.

(except maybe) the earlier c4's

if you guys like cars go look into one. Find somebody who has one and ask to go for a ride! I promise you wont regret it.

he he guess what i just so happened to race from a standing start on sunday evening biggrin.gif

Yup 944 turbo, nice 17 inch wheels, exhaust very clean, anyway, we pull up at traffic lights aka madmile, and they turn green im running a 1bar boost (by accident i swear wink.gif) i dont move in 1st hook second an dmake about 2 cars on him when i put it into 4th i slowed down because i thaught he had given up the ghost (i was about 7-8 cars by now) and lo and behold he comes blatting past me full steam.

I was suprised it was that slow to be honest.

My father had a 911 turbo and it was a scary car to drive like being on the end of an elsatic band...sloooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwww then whoooooooooooooooooooooosh. But very cool car lovely styling, very brute.

superguy.jpg BUFF MAN 300ZX SUPER HERO!!!! or is that DUFFMAN????

Tell ya what jangles my chain and that would be a Gembella modified 993. One of their 550-600 hp engine packages. Sure I could squeeze more out of the Zed but then again 500kg in weight difference .... Porsche wins.

Oh to win the lottery someday.
