Evening bodders.... :duffer:

I have started a mission to loose as much weight on me Z as possible.

All within reason as its not a race car

I need to keep the rear seats(luckily there only foamy sh#t)

The rear spoiler must weigh some but it needs to stay.

I know some items like c/f bonnet for std Z bonnet is not alota difference but it all adds up

of course most of this is eliminated as soon as i put any GoGo juice in and i cant get any thinner than i am already but it all helps.

Please add ideas to the list to help me on my way...Chunk has already contributed(CheerZ  ) so i have included these:-

Remove :-

speakers

Headunit

Cruise control

AIV's

HICAS (complete removel)

Rear Wiper + motor

weights in boot lid

Boards & carpet in boot

Foot mats

Fit/Change:-

Pully set

Lightweight Flywheel

Electric seat out...non-electric seat in

Sub conversion (removes large rear boot glass window with tiny piece)

Carbon Fibre bonnet

Foot well Wooden boards with Alloy replicas

Didn't GM make some for there 3rd Gen F-Bird's and Cameros and they used to lose shape and crack due to the sun after a few year's? :(

Light Weight battery is 1 hell of a mod and is something i'll be offering very soon, weight savings are massive ;)

I'd be interested in this. Mine has wrong battery fitted anyway... keep me updated :D

try extra-light alloys - eg, superlites

front no. plate surround

lighter rear-view mirror

boot blind weighs a ton

spacesaver is heavy

ditch tools and wooden floor pieces.

use lighter carpet

scrape out bitumen from floor

pedals look heavy for their size- replace with Al ones ?

bonnet catch is not essential and is solid metal - replace with lighter one or string to hold bonnet up ??

dry sump and change oil frequently - power and weight benefits

rear seatbelts weigh >1kg each - if not used, ditch along with rear seats

headlight washers are useless

The Carbon fiber bonnets actually weigh more than the standard Z bonnet. + if you take one standard Z bonnet to cool luvres and have some groovy holes cur or a load of luvres you'll save weight.
