Diesel pumps aren't exactly like your standard petrol pump though - they're kind like the fueling and ignition wrapped into one system. With the new generation of tdci or whatever diesels coming out, the pump is actually ecu controlled... hence the price. Now if you're after one for a mondeo, around 01 year, I know of one, in excellent condition, which may be up for sale, nothing dodgy, just came on a second hand engine and wasn't needed.... :D
