Having an electrical fault sorted out on my car at the moment (engine wouldn't cut off when ignition switched off). Seem to have got to the bottom of that problem which is a faulty EGI relay.

Now the bleedin' thing won't start! Apparently its getting fuel and a spark but won't fire. Any ideas what to look at next?

starter motor? just a guess

The starter moter is fine as the car is turning over as normal, I've heard it trying to start over the phone!

would guess somethings been knocked etc

Dont want to sound daft, but had this problem on a previous motor, had both spark and fuel, problem was the timing belt had slipped about three teeth, hence the fuel wasnt igniting. Maybe woth a look.

Well, it seems as though we're getting somewhere now. The spark plugs were really fouled up and the cats have unburnt fuel in them. Have had to buy a new set of plugs this afternoon and will try them tomorrow morning. Then I need to work out why its running so rich.

Good fun these cars, aren't they? :(

check the wires to the temp sensor. Make sure they are not corroded.
