Man it slippy out today, mate of mine went to overtake a old grandad doing 15mph in a 50 zone but ended up spinning 3 times and smashing one of his wheels to bits. He didnt even git it much, must have lost traction on ice or something. As you can guess hes not a happy chappy. I drove the same route as him but luckily my car was running like a bag of sh1te at the time so i wasnt looking to overtake anybody.

Mate car was a TVR Chimera 4.0 in case you ask LOL

That will prob be why the Old codger was doing 15mph and has never hit his car lol

Had assholes zipping by me today in the snow doing 70 when it was so thick you couldnt see the lanes.

thing is, it hasnt been raining or snowing, and the roads didnt feel slippy. Im not sure what actually caused the spin. Maybe the wheel lost traction on the white line? The sun was out but it was still cold, so could have been black ice i suppose.

Admitally I would not risk overtaking when its really cold as, theres the risk of black ice.

i had a near miss today - was pootling down to the end of my road ready to turn onto Welford Road, checked my mirror and noticed some d1ckhead in a Rav4 right up my arse all the way to the junction. Later today when i got back my dad (who just happened to be watching me leave the house) asked me did i see the Rav4 behind me this morning? I said yes it was right behind me. My dad said her wheels were locked and she was skidding all the way down the road and missed me by an inch! If she'd hit me and pushed me onto Welford Road I'd have been in trouble (and so would she) :mac1:

I left the ZX at home today and drove to work in the Rav-4.

My work-chum wouldn't drive it the snow. I offered my assistance yesterday, so I had to drive 9 miles in the opposite direction to pick her up so she could get in, only to find the snow vanished around midday....

a little bit of rain or snow brings all the shit to the top of the road, black ice is where rain freezes on top of a frozen road, my car in general handles a hell of a lot different when it is cold from a mechanical viewpoint, adam_d saw what a zed is like in a cold car park the other day :D:D
