You may all be aware of this already but I wasn’t so I’ll post it anyway.
The other day I was going through the tedious job of completing those on-line insurance forms, must have done six or seven with quotes ranging from £550 to £1200, average being around £700.
I completed the elephant proposal form and got a figure of £620, at that point the other half came in and got a little pissed off that I had not included her on the proposal. I went on to inform her that with her limited driving experience etc etc it would push the premium through the ceiling. Anyway to humour her I amended the proposal to include her as a named driver just to prove my point and to my amazement it returned an amended premium of £450.
So my advice to any of you guys currently paying for yourself as the only driver is to try adding the other half to the policy.
