I thought you may be interested in knowing that I have a PentRoof Z.

I bought it last year and imported from Japan to Brisbane.

It is extremely quick and extremely well sorted. A couple of pics below:

It is without the rear wing at present.

apart from 800 horses whats special i cansee rolll cage etc never heard of pentroof z before

I suppose you can class the pentroof zed in the lines of the topsecret supra and the jun lemon skyline, all famous because they are demo cars.

Kirbz

Would you be allowed to import this now ?

I was speaking to Leigh who mentioned various issues around highly modified cars.....

As long as its before 1995 then all you need is to mot it but after 1995 then it has to conform to the model report ie standard so thats why not many well tuned, newer cars are not coming through.

Yes, it's quite a find. The odd thing about the black one (subject of this thread) is that it doesn't have a PentRoof body kit. The rear mounted dry cell battery is not a PentRoof touch, either. Could be that someone kitted it out with a few bits from PentRoof, rather than an in-house build, methinks.

Cheers,

Wal

So can we class Macca's motor as a Pentroof UK Z then?? ;)

I think it would be a nice motor to put forward for the "STIG" to put round the Top Gear track.Bet we'd all be watching that episode.

It's an Autometer 5" fitted by PentRoof, so who am I to argue. Actually it's only a little bigger than the stock unit, just that it's a bit closer to the driver.

I bought the car which had been built in-house by PentRoof as their promotional vehicle. Thay have since done another one in orange, which now is beginning to feature on their website.

Check out the video clip from the DVD "Hot Version 59" - it's all in Japanese, but features the yella zed hooning around Tsukuba in Japan.:

In an earlier post I gave the link to download the PentRoof excerpt:

http://www.breed-xtreme.be/Nuke/downloads-file-11.html

The full DVD has a lot on the 350Z and also a four car "time attack" including a black PentRoof Zed. It's not the one that started this thread, though.

About that car, PentRoof use Volk TE37s (sans stickers), their own aero kit, etc. The black car for sale has the Volks (with stickers) but only a front chin spoiler on a stock bar, stock bonnet and a non-PentRoof wing. Under-bonnet it is totally different - very un-PentRoof. Also, different decals on the side from the black PentRoof which appears in the full Hot Version video.

My car has HKS bits everywhere, including suspension, hardpipes, gauges, boost controller etc, but few other brands of bits. No decals but PentRoof, as you see it in the video. The black car had Tein suspension, PentRoof aero bonnet, splitter rear bar, half a dozen guages in the centre of the dash instead of stereo, big tacho just to the left of the main instrument cluster, Bride seats (not Recaro) etc, etc. Compare the two and you will quickly see.

Sorry, I'm not yet convinced - looks like a ring-in to me. I don't know what it is, except a car that may or may not have any PentRoof connection. What is certain is that it is NOT the black PentRoof car used in the DVD.

Cheers,

Wal

very nice car indeed infact the pentroof z32 is my fav of all time, but for 25k id want carbon fibre interior instead of tweed :D

..... the pentroof z32 is my fav of all time, but for 25k id want carbon fibre interior instead of tweed :D

For 25K stg, I'd want even more than that! I'd certainly want a written pedigree from PentRoof. I might be wrong, but if my car is any guide, IF it is genuine and IF it has PentRoof manifolds, Tein suspension and ALL the jewellery, it probably sold in Japan for about 9-10K stg. Add on freight and Duty etc and it probably landed for well under 20K. As it is, I'd like to know what happened to all the PentRoof bits that would have been on it.

If it's not genuine, then it's worth as much as any other modded Zed out there.

So has your yellow car got all the pentroof manifolds, turbos etc etc??

The black one IS from pentroof as i emailed them for a spec list when it was up for sale and it was also on their web site, i have seen it before though in a pentroof video going round a track so i very much doubt that its a ringer!! my guess is that most tuning companies do a "show" car which yours looks like and then a "performance" car to show off their tuning abilities but bodykits are not important as they only add weight. Oh and yes the black one did have all the bits and bobs on it, i did have more pictures of it somewhere so will try to dig them up :) oh and as for price the pentroof black zed was up for 5 million yen so once you add duty etc on to it it would have been well over the £30k mark!!
