Hello Guys,

I have noticed that my left bank of LED rear lights seem to have a problem

From the outside set to the inner light set, the Leds seem to be very dim and not all lighting up ?? ie: the outer ring on the indicator is very dull :( but then get brighter nearer the centre rear panal.

Electrics is not my strong point so some pointers would be appreciated

Sounds like you could have either a lose connection on an led, or a blown one. depends how they are wired up, my guess, would be try replacing the led that doesnt light up mate...

Our friend Neil, could do this to save you any worry

T, they all work mate , but not very well and the centre of the leds is bright but the outer ring isn't....im stumped :(

sorry mate, when you said not all lighting up, i thought you meant one was out..

Ok, then i would guess at an earth failure.

try adding an axtra temp earth, if they illuminate brighter, your fault sorted.

:D Cheers T.........How the foook do i do that... :slap: told you leccy not my strong point......lmao

Still no joy on this LED problem, they are Dimmer from the outside bank of lights than the Middle set..???

Cant find any wiring probs or breaks  if i dont get them fixed then No Santa pod on Sun as the car wont be road legal without working brake lights on one side..

Sarg, you need to establish if its a fault with the light

unit or the wireing loom/car. to do this you have to

connect a constant 12v supply to the unit that is

failing, this is called ilimination, this is the basis of

electrical fault finding. I will pm you my land line

number and see if we can solve this problem>

Cheers

Allan

Cheers Allan, just not getting any way with this and dont want to miss the Pod meet :(:(

Similar to Gruntpa's idea: you could get a couple of pieces of wire, strip the ends, disconnect both sides and bridge the left supply ot the right light and vice versa... this would show if it's the light or the power supply.
