My knob's too big!

See, I knew you'd just have to read this.

Seriously though, I'm looking at installing my T/C in the next few days, I would like to fit the 6-way switch to the left of the steering column next to the warning lights.

What I don't like is the 70s style switch, looks like its from a radiogram! smile.gif

Does anyone know how to spec the switch, I'm trauling through the Maplin web site, if anyone could help I'd be grateful, I'm looking for a switch more 'in keeping' radiused corners and perhaps a tad smaller.

Any ideas guyz?

Thanks

Tim

pull the casing apart and mount the dial and push button right next to the clock, thats where I put mine (I bought my TCS pre casing days so the dial and button had to be mounted anyway). Looks good, easy to get to, and doesn't look out of place.

Very handy when you're going to pull out of a sideroad and you want to flick it off. Coz your hand is already there when you're going to select first...

You're not looking for a new switch just a different knob right ??? They switches have standard size splindles, so it shouldn't be a problem. Just pick one you like and double check the spec, just in case.

I was being a pratt - correct biggrin.gif

Andy, I've just sussed that all I need is the knob, thanks m8

Oh you're a sitting duck Tim mate! ROFLMFAO biggrin.gif

So let me get this straight, you've already got a big knob and you're not happy with it so you wanna smaller knob?

Oh you are flattering yourself aren't you...

"Hey everybody, look at the size of my knob, it's so big I don't need it that big so I'm getting a reduction in the knob department!"

Big head! biggrin.gif

Most of us would crave a knob like yours! wink.gif

In fact, when you get your smaller knob what are you gonna do with your big knob? I'll have it if you don't want it! LMAO biggrin.gif

You B*strd Timmy!

Nearly mad me choke on my sarny after that post!

Luckily I't was a sarny and not a drink ot it would be all over my monitor now.

Timmy,

To add insult to injury, my knob is not only too big I have discovered that this doesn't matter as I only have a 6mm shaft. ROFL

Oh but what a hard shaft it must be to sustain a knob that size Tim! biggrin.gif

I see your problem now, big knob small shaft! What can you do eh? You never get blessed with both proportionate do ya? Sods law that!

Either small knob and big shaft or big knob and tiny shaft as in your case mate wink.gif

Oh well, soon I'll be in the same situation I guess, I'm getting my knob fitted this weekned! biggrin.gif
